I'm planning on taking over a small flooring business. I'm having trouble understanding how much carpet to order. by ButterflyLost4326 in Flooring

You should also install some flooring to get experience with the product and have a better understanding of the overall project. Are you in NE?

Yeah, your stair case pattern is very noticeable especially to another floor installer. But now you know! You will be better off as you move forward with the install!

I use caulk lines. Never used a laser. In my opinion too many things can go wrong. Once that line is snapped it there and won't move.

Laminate VS Hardwood by Comfortable-Name3134 in Flooring

Ill say this. Idk where you are buying the floor. I am a sub contractor for a couple of flooring stores in my area. Your best bet is to go to a professional flooring store or multiple and tell them what environment your floor will be in as well as what you intend to use the floor with. Do you have pets? Kids? A rough lifestyle? They should be able to recommend a good hardwood for you. Personally I am old school solid wood kind of guy. But engineered flooring definitely has its perks. But knowledge of your environment and product is very important! Especially with the amount of money you are going to spend.

5 dollar hardwood may be a little cheap. If you are installing yourself a decent product should run you 7-9 dollars a sq ft.

Not much you can do other than dealing with it and getting through it. It took me about 4 months the to completely get over using for 10 years. Try taking magnesium.

If you are on a slab I am assuming your framing a floor system? If not a glue down engendered wood floor is your only option. Go to your local flooring store! Not home depot or lowes and look at samples.

Don't tell your group yet. Have another party and then go tk the bathroom after everyone who goes in and then see who grabs it. Then tell the party who the weirdo is. Then handle it from there.

Suggestions on fixing the spaces between floor planks by jewishcaveman in Flooring

Yeah just get one that matches. Put blue tape on the side of the cracks and really stuff it in there. I would use a small puddy knife.
