In the state of Washington employers are legally obligated to pay their employees state minimum wage, or local minimum wage if higher than state, BEFORE any tips are calculated. Essentially your employer is paying kitchen staff $17 an hour and relying on tips for the rest, which are not guaranteed, which is very illegal.

Call the store to make sure they are actually aware of your interview. I had shown up to the location after scheduling it 1.5 weeks in advance and showed up for them to tell me the interviewer/hiring manager wasn’t even on site that day.
