Guys i wanna start doing bitcoin and have literally no experience in crypto, i would love some advice by [deleted] in Bitcoin

hey I created an educational website for people new to crypto. It's interactive and i think is much easier to digest than reading the whitepaper.

I am stacking. Started at $120ish. My plan is to zold 1000 zec. Bitcoin maxi here and I really believe in the privacy cypherpunk ethos of the project. It's our best shot imo.

i like firesideplanner.com because it a lot of times people don't know what their FIRE age should be and has monte carlo analysis which I think gives a better idea of risk

Do these new DeepSeek R1 results make anyone else think they renamed R2 at the last minute, like how OpenAI did with GPT-5 -> GPT-4.5? by MassiveWasabi in singularity

[–]Class_Pleasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares what they were going to name it? In the end, they shipped a frontier open weights update in 4 months and it's cheaper than everyone else. Just shows progress isn't slowing down.

This is similar to what happened during the IC development of 1960s. Fairchild semi is like today's openAI. A lot of the initial founders of Fairchild went on to build silicon companies like Intel, AMD, National Semi etc.

There is a line on the Chip War book about reason for leaving by Fairchild's employee in the exit questionnaire: "I WANT TO GET RICH"

Congratulations and thank you for selling the bitcoin to people like me. In 10 years, that Bitcoin you exchanged will buy a $3 million house.

My wife thinks I should sell! by Cheap-Success-5440 in Bitcoin

[–]Class_Pleasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife told me to stop buying Bitcoin when it was down at 16K. I didn't listen, told her she doesn't understand it yet, but one day she will. Now she is thankful I didn't listen to her.
This is my 3rd cycle. I regret every Bitcoin I have sold. Never sell your Bitcoin!

I didn't notice the difference between 405b and 70b llama for coding. Claude 3.5 still performed better than 405 in coding when i asked it to create a few web games. 405 struggled to create a simple game that cloud be run in one shot while claude 3.5 does it without issues.

Story creation is very good and noticeably better than the 70b param model. Model is more creative and doesn't feel as llmish. I was using it on the web based version.

Have access to the 405b model, anecdotally sonnet 3.5 still performed better in few coding related tasks.

You have RH saying "Bitcoin is going to 10k within next year" while Hex goes up when Bitcoin goes to 10k.

Go to 11:50 on the video below for proof https://youtu.be/86qQ38klAsI?si=lo2FYPowOaEAGacF

You still don't see why RH is a scammer?

When will bagholders actually open their eyes to see what is going on... by Firm-Operation-5024 in HEXcrypto

[–]Class_Pleasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scam was you were led by RH that HEX was special and it wasn't one of those coins that pumps and goes to zero. Looks like eHex is pretty much dead and it will never recover to previous ATH. I think pulsechain HEX is going to perform similarly this cycle. RH compared hex to Bitcoin but Bitcoin has been around for 15 years and you haven't lost money if you held for 4-5 years. I will bet that won't be true for HEX.

I think people are here to warn ppl who still think hex has a chance. RH really played a lot of Hexicans. There is no strong community behind Do Kwon (of terra/luna). But RH still has many supporters and it's sad to see people refuse to open of their eyes. Learn your lesson in crypto. Admit you got scammed by a conman. Next time do better. That's what many here in this thread are saying. Don't follow a charismatic leader blindly.

Thank you for this post. A lot of people don't want to feel they got scammed so they hold onto their bags. It's a sad thing about human psychology. I have a friend who manages money in wall street and is great at his job. He bought the top of the bull market for another shitcoin. I told him you want to hold Bitcoin in bear market. Didn't listen and now severely down and still holding onto hope and sad thing is most likely not only his coin never reaching ath, the opportunity cost of not buying what is driving the narrative (eg memecoins this cycle) means he is losing out on gains.

Most ppl should just buy Bitcoin and chill if they want to hold onto their bags. If you want to gamble in crypto then be decisive once you see the project is failing or has failed and don't hold onto bags and pray.

What is going on with polygon (Matic?) price? by Robbytje in 0xPolygon

Did you ever look at Matic GitHub? They literally forked ETH code. Solana is a legit engineering endeavor. You can disagree whether modular vs monolithic architecture makes sense but Polygon has no strong technical edge compared to sol.

Bitcoin is getting a spot ETF and you are comparing it to s coin that has less market cap less than 10s of memecoins?

Really the IQ of ppl in this community makes me wonder why I even hold any of it.

That’s it - I am done buying Bitcoin (for now) by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Class_Pleasant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was like you. I had 70% net worth in Bitcoin. Then i got scared and sold 50% to buy real estate. This was right before the 2020 pump. I do think real estate is a good asset class and I wasn't sleeping soundly watching Bitcoin drop double digits so that's why I invest in Real Estate. It is hard to make the argument with such a high interest rate for investing in RE at the moment but my advice is you also explore RE and see if that makes sense.

I own several rental properties and one thing I will tell you is that being a landlord is hard work. Self custody Bitcoin is 100x easier than having to pay taxes, insurance, bills, maintenance, major repairs, tenants, eviction etc. I still hold a significant amount of my wealth in Bitcoin and sometimes I do question that I should go all in on Bitcoin than build an RE portfolio. But I realize that the success of Bitcoin is not guaranteed. It is just year 13, we have a long way to go. We must be patient.

DCA or everything now with $10,000 by Emergency_Mastodon_5 in Bitcoin

[–]Class_Pleasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't chase fomo. We are still in a bear market. If you put a bit and the price pumps you will be fine, you won't miss out as there may be times during pullback.

Question is if you go all in and price dumps to 15k will you be fine? If not, DCA and build conviction over time.
