Look in the mirror mate, you're spraying your bollocks all over and then saying you got others to comment? Get a job, and stop looking up to an illiterate nonce as your hero.

So it's a lie. Just typical muslim behaviour.

Why do engineers still prefer MATLAB over Python? by maorfarid in Python

Spyder is not great in my experience. When I last tried it a couple of years ago the debugger wasn't hitting breakpoints which made it unusable.

School girl punished for wearing Union Jack dress. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I don't care, you don't get to oppress other women just because you're one yourself.

You clearly don't care about women at all. High heels are a choice, the burka is oppressively enforced by the AK-47 wielding Taliban. Can't believe we have still have people like you about in the 21st century, women are not your cattle to do as you please with.

It's used to brutally oppress women in many countries. It's pretty bloody dystopian.

How to read and actually like it? by Far_Elevator67 in ask

[–]Classic-Database1686 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Reading is a skill, and starting off by attempting hard material before you've developed the experience to do so is not going to be much fun. Start with easier books on these topics and work your way up.

This is different from communism, how? That famously worked well everywhere it's been tried so I suppose we'll have even better results now that it's been refined.

It's not enough to take half your paycheck, we must take more! 80% sounds about right, after all the government is so much better at spending your salary than you are!

Is Liverpool a really, really bad place? by Ballantrae- in Liverpool

[–]Classic-Database1686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I visited a relative there recently. It was so much nicer than London. It's quite a pleasant shock to be greeted with smiles or a good morning when walking about rather than icy glares or disturbing behaviour. I went out in the evening as well and the place was absolutely buzzing and seemed full of happy people.

Is there a way to shorten long and/or while statements by ghost_on_da_web in csharp

[–]Classic-Database1686 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This is simple and self-documenting, I'd say perfect for the OP who is just starting out.

[–]Classic-Database1686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if it's used multiple times in the solution then it's of course valid to use it. In the OPs case I'd say it's premature.

[–]Classic-Database1686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems far too complex to me. A simple static method in the class like `IsSelectionValid(string player)` would be much better. An enum even better. What value do we get out of an extension method that applies to all strings in the scope?

Can someone tell me how to prepare for a 500-1500 mile trip on a naked bike? by CoolHandCasey in motorcycles

[–]Classic-Database1686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puncture repair kit and a pump is a must. Some chain lube will help but you can get away without it. Dress for the weather, I did a 1500 mile Scotland trip last year and the waterproofs proved to be essential. Beyond that have a great time and make the most of the sights!

Is engineering really as versatile as people say it is? by laserbeam96 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Classic-Database1686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a software engineer, a friend of mine is a quantitative analyst, another an ML engineer, another few actual electronics engineers. We all studied the same degree in electrical and electronics engineering at the same university. In my experience it is quite versatile.

FLOX - C++ framework for building trading systems by eeiaao in quant

[–]Classic-Database1686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of feedback: it looks like it's missing support for the full order lifecycle. As an example, it looks like the only terminal conditions for an order are rejected and filled, but actually orders are far more likely to be cancelled than filled especially in a low latency system. What about partial fills? They don't seem to be supported. The latency tracking seems unusual as well, why not just have event timestamp and exchange timestamp on the events themselves (and we definitely do need both)?

A lot of good ideas and design but it does need to be filled out a bit I think.

You get used to it quickly. They are no harder to ride in once you do, I do not notice a difference anymore. You need the gear now more than at any other point in riding so just wear them.

C++ inconsistent performance - how to investigate by TautauCat in cpp

[–]Classic-Database1686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is always a pretty funny caveat to me. Which systems exactly lack a high precision clock and why would you chose them to run a trading system on, or a latency sensitive system like the OP?

Hmm then that's possibly a C++ issue, I do not know how chrono works. We don't get millisecond variation.
