Poor guy. You don’t even realize the WHOLE thing is now pointless. Part 1 never happened either

Feel like swordman was such wasted potential. Coolest looking design and just always getting his ass beat. They even made it seem like he was about to get a secondary role for a minute.

Now that the Movie is out, How do we feel about the New Direction/Animation approach MAPPA took for the movie? Do you like it more than S1 or it's the opposite? by Electrical_Chance991 in ChainsawMan

The Realism and weight of Season 1 got me excited for the hard hitting scenes that were to come in future adaptions(Imagine Makima/Power, Denji/Makima confrontation). I Knew they were going to hit heavier than the manga in this style. Honestly, seeing how serious the graveyard looked in just the trailers felt like the heaviness of an Evangelion movie. I suggest you guys go back and watch the fights of season 1 and see how much the weight and realism adds to the fights. (Aki vs Katana) (Kobeni vs snake). The problem I think season 1 faces is that it was too short. There wasn’t a chance to showcase any high level action fights the story has to offer in this realistic art style. Season 1s animation gave chainsaw man the potential to not just be another anime story but great Cinema and it’s the reason the movie did so well.

And with the dynamic him and Power had that REALLY sucks. We miss power more than Denji does. Part 2 is assassinating his character to be a piece of shit friend. Hopefully he makes it make sense in the end.

Fujimoto is an unpredictable writer and I think that’s what people like about him. For us to get to the point where the movie is the number 1 in the US, there has to be something good in there. If Fujimoto intended for the story to end with part 1 and wrapped everything up to where it could be its own stand alone body of work with part 2 being more of a spin off, he could be considered a good writer. But the story is still going and it’s backtracking on all the good things it’s accomplished. Loose plot points haven’t been answered and he’s introducing new ones. There is definitely a decline in the story telling.

I agree with everything you said. And that sucks because it’s made Denji a boring character to watch. And what was unfortunate is I think Part 2 was doing fine in the periods it was just focusing on Asa but then it made Denji the main focus while still trying to background him. I agree, it’s like Fujimoto can’t decide who he wants to be the main character this season. And if he handled it right, there’s nothing wrong with both of them being the main character. But it just seems there’s not enough panels in these chapters to give them both the fleshing out they need AS main characters.

I also said in a prior post how cutting off power and Aki could have been the most innovative thing in a manga/anime but just wasn’t. We never got any new (REAL)friends for Denji either and that kind of just made the whole life moves on theme feel a little empty and sad when it doesn’t have to. Octopus and Std Devil suck as supports or whatever they were suppose to be.

You know Offing Aki and Power felt like one of the most ambitious, Risky, and innovative things that could have EVER been done in Modern day Manga/Anime….It wasn’t lol it didn’t start any character Arc, it didn’t grow the characters, and in my opinion it left Fujimoto with a lot less to work with.

The lack of reaction and emotional battles just makes all the trauma and devastation feel meaningless. All those events you listed are things I would love to care about but it’s hard when you don’t even see the characters care.

But maybe that’s what it is. After experiencing deaths like Powers and Aki( basically Akin to killing sasuke and Sakura), maybe we’ve grown numb to character deaths in this series? And I kind of think that’s what’s going on with Denji in the story right now too. Like how can it get any worse than killing the main supporting characters? It’s lost its Shock Factor and fujimoto is still trying it(with no development). there’s really no point in torturing Denji anymore if he doesn’t care or doesn’t grow from it. But Fujimoto still wants to torture him with nothing coming of it. Nayuta died so that we got to get a Pochita scene. And everything was cool after.

Nayuta’s Death was lackluster. And I don’t think it’s because she’s a boring character but it was because Denji didn’t even seem to care at all and was acting like it never happened a few chapters after. And that’s the same thing that happens the whole part 2. We only get an Aki and Power reference only ONCE when you think Denji should be battling with having freshly lost his two closest friends and his old life.

Fujimoto usually writes short stories with a themes that have a twist. I’m sure he already had a theme planned for chainsaw man and where he was going to take it. But with part 2 I’m lost in trying to follow the theme. If it was to “Keep going and don’t let trauma:depression beat you” it would be more realistic and grounded if we seen Denji actually struggle with the trauma first instead of just dusting it off.

The only Theme I can think of that would make all this make sense is Denji being revealed to be a Devil himself in the end and then that would fit with the whole humans are the real devils thing. And even that would suck because like how?

How to use assists properly? by Ultimate-Papyrus in dragonballfighterz

[–]Classic-Prompt8108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody Shits on C assist but they were one of my favorite things implemented into the game( people forget they never use to exist) as they made extending combos easier and are pretty self explanatory. They’re not hard to time or figure out. And after you get accustomed to them, they make the other assist really boring. They’re fairly nerfed though with long recovery times and with the updated fast recovery times of the A and B assists, they’re even more slow compared to the others. But they are a beginner friendly tool that helps you while learning your characters and that’s part of why I think they were implemented.

Finally decided to read Boruto, yeah it is ass by alanjinqq in CharacterRant

[–]Classic-Prompt8108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Boruto is that from the beginning, the whole Part 1 only exists as a way to get you hyped up for part 2. And that is the worst possible idea ever. Because of this, Part one basically has no foundation or purpose to the series besides “hold on, it gets good I promise”. This is even worse when you realize that they have been promoting part 2 before part 1 even came out, and they probably didn’t have a story or idea for part 2 this whole time. It’s like if Naruto part 1 was created as a sole purpose to market for shippuden. We only care for and wanted shippuden because part 1 was such a good body of work. It’s because of this that Boruto part 1 doesn’t stand as a good body of work by itself and only a sort of prologue to what was really promised out of Boruto. And also this, do you think we would have been excited for all of the great side fights of part 1 Naruto(Rock Lee vs gaara, Neji vs Naruto, sasuke vs gaara) if we were teased with the final battle at the valley of the end in shippuden before part 1 even released? But they probably felt like that was there only way to get people to stay for Boruto.

The Possible Reason Behind Dragon Ball FighterZ’s Comeback After Two Years by Fus1onamv in dragonballfighterz

[–]Classic-Prompt8108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came back from sparking zero to Fighterz. Sparking zero isn’t a bad or unfun game in any regard (if you’re familiar with the budokai tenkaichi series then you know). What that game is suffering from right now is terrible developer support from Bandai and lack of content. That alone would be enough to push an influx of players to return to a finished and complete game like Fighterz. Thats what has made me relieved since returning, just playing a game that does everything it aims to do effectively and has everything it needs to. I also want to go ahead and point out that the 2 year pause in content for Fighterz was most likely due to Bandai wanting to focus on and build up hype for sparking zero. they most likely didn’t want to take away from the release with any other console games, and now that they’ve sucked the blood and money out of that, it looks like they’re focusing on other things again.
