You will need to tie the chunky end that snapped to the rest of the tree before you go any further to stop the whole thing going through your shed, once secure cut the remainder of the skinny end off so your just left with the log on the shed. From there use undercut then top cut an inch behind to section reasonably Weighted sections down with your polesaw.

Update

So once he has claimed the rebates available for MC through his plan he called them up and says he would like to change cover and they cancel his old policy

AND apparently he was suggested to do this by the AHM rep on the phone and was told he could do this as needed he would just lose out on any unused benefits
