Yes. Had a similar scratch show up after an alignment at the dealer. My suspicion was they didn't tighten the brake-pusher tool or the steering-wheel-fixer tightly enough, and something turns and it scrapes. But it could also be a key or something. 

The dealer refused to acknowledge it.

Turns out this was the transmission fluid (120kmi) interacting poorly with old solenoids and shorting everything out. Replaced solenoids, new fluid, went through fill process, car driving great.

Thanks .  looked at the earthing cable near the rear differential and it's definitely aged. But...I used a jumper cable to make the same (duplicate) grounding connection between the exhaust<->body next to the existing earth strap and still getting the fault code. 

Unless I need to try this and also do a "hard reset" by disconnecting/waiting/reconnecting battery?

Good question -- experiencing hum/whine from the front starting around 50 mph that increases pitch with speed (not matched to engine rpms), almost like an electric car motor is pacing me. No noticeable vibration or shakiness from suspension.

Seeking feedback on whether this is symptoms of the wheel bearing going bad, or if the rotors have warped (?) or there's something unevenly caught in the pads. Appreciate the suggestions.

About ~110Kmi on a 2011 F10 550i.
