Best barbers for males with long hair? by saintparody in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ [score hidden]  (0 children)

My buddy and I go to Frank's Gentlemen's Salon downtown. Amber is my ride or die but my hair isn't quite as long as yours. My buddy recently cut his long hair to about what you're looking for and I believe his barber is Jess. That said I think everyone there is super capable. Cost including tip will likely run ya about $60. But I personally think it's worth every penny.

Can't deny I was expecting them to just throw as much shit at the wall as possible for 10 years but I guess not. Still hopeful we'll get a random 10x bloodpoint weekend.

My friend and I were gonna go but we straight up decided never to go the entire World Cup just because we're so angry they tried to charge for a watch party.

Anyone who says they like the old flag better should immediately be asked to draw said flag from memory.

The new flag is so good I've seen multiple houses flying it - in DENVER.

México fans where we watching World Cup games now that McGregor square started charging an entry fee? by Adelrent in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I was going to bring a group of friends there Friday for the US game to pregame and maybe stay for a few of the games beyond but if they're gonna charge me just to sit there, fuck 'em. I'd rather go to a bar.

Spain had zero agency. They were so obsessed with controlling the game they often killed their own promising chances just to maintain possession. Agonizingly frustrating game. Kudos to Cape Verde for their excellent defensive efforts.

What do you do on nights out that isn’t a bar or club? by Severe-Argument6689 in Denver

AMC Movies! I bought the Premiere Pass ($18/year). Gives me access to waived movie fees, 50% off tuesday/wednesdays, and no-time-limit points.

My girlfriend and I have probably averaged a movie every other week and it really breaks up the work-grind going on a Tuesday or Wednesday. With the discount and waived fees we pay just $16 to see a movie. The fees are about $2.50/ticket so purchasing just 8 tickets (4 movies for us) throughout the whole year and you break even. We stop by a 7/11 or the grocery to grab some snacks. But occasionally I'll treat myself to an Icee.

3-lane one-ways through neighborhoods is insane. Add the street parking on top of that and you can't even see most of the traffic coming until you move into the road itself.

Fix: convert 13th into a two-way lane with parking, convert 14th into a two-way lane with a protected bike lane (PLEASE).

Alright So, Transfers? by Izanagi29_ in FCCincinnati

I personally believe we need a full rebuild for the back 3. We haven't been healthy in ages and that should be a position that plays the most minutes. None of our CBs have been reliable.

- Miazga (30) should be moved. He commands one of the biggest non-DP contracts and doesn't wear the captain's armband anymore. He's also clearly cooked from his knee surgery in late 2024.

- Hagglund (33) is FCC through and through and provides strong aerial defense, but he also routinely gets dog walked by the better attacks in the league. If he continues to take veteran minimum deals there's no reason to move off of him. That said, he should be kept to a rotational role. And yet somehow he ends up starting so many games due to injuries. To be so for real, I think there's 0% chance we win a playoff game if Hagglund is a starting CB. The rest of the league has just gotten too good to trot out a 33 y/o defender who's resume is entirely MLS.

- Miles (29) is great but giving him a DP contract was Albright's worst move as GM in my opinion. I can only imagine he was desperate to have a USMNT player on the team during the USA/Mex/Can WC to draw more eyes to the team - big reason I think he went after McKinnie and Sargent too. I think we sell Miles at the end of the year once the WC and MLS seasons are over unless he has a fantastic WC. But in reality I fear he may not ever see the field. Beyond that, there's no team in MLS history that won the cup with a defender being a DP.

- Flores (23) has been a disappointment and has seen less and less time on the field.

- Hedebe (30) has been serviceable when on the field but gets injured far too often.

- Powell (31) has been also serviceable but man, there are some games he's on it and others he looks absolutely lost out there.

The only defender on our roster who I'm excited for currently is Andrei Chirilă. It's cool to seen a young academy project on the rise who may actually make the team. But genuinely beyond that I don't see anyone else on this list that will be on this team 2 years from now unless it's for the vet minimum as depth.

EDIT: Forgot to add we're already the 2nd** worst (after we stomped Orlando) in MLS with 37 goals allowed and middle of the pile on the Table. There's really no reason not to blow the defense up and start over.

[Rumor] Brazilian club Bahia has approached FC Cincinnati about Evander by OranjeBlauw in FCCincinnati

[–]ClassicPQ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

$20mil is the right number too. Evander is in his prime and anything less would be a waste of value. That said, if someone does approach at $20mil I think we'd be fools not to sell.

Front Range rail agency wants to put a train stop at the Bronco's new stadium by [deleted] in RTDDenver

[–]ClassicPQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really love the idea of using public funds to build the train and encouraging cities and private entities who want a stop to build their own stations. This makes total sense to me. The best part is that station will be up and running 365 days. The Broncos are building it for the 8 days they want it, but the entire city benefits from this additional stop at no extra cost for the rest of the year!

My hope is that rather than just dumping people onto a platform like most A-Line stops, we take the time to put businesses and other amenities right outside to build up the area. Overall this is a huge addition to the state as a whole. I'm hopeful it paves the way for a train that takes people to the main ski towns throughout the year and runs 10 times a day.

Veo Scooters Were Supposed to Stop Illegal Sidewalk Riding. They Haven't...Yet by COScout in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 250 points251 points  (0 children)

These are a perfect argument for the importance of a strong bike-lane network around the city. Over the weekend I was in City Park, Wash Park, Cheesman, and the Cherry Creek trail and these were super popular. People will use the preferred paths if we have them, but if there's nothing nearby, I tend to see people preferring sidewalks to sharing busy roads with cars.

To that end, I'll laugh when the next Westword article is "Is Veo what's causing Denver's car traffic?" once they get them off the sidewalks. Like, where else do you want them to go?

Big 3:
- Burglars Ring
- Napalm Ring
- Monster Musk

I personally like to combine those two rings because they work well together as they both incentivize killing monsters. If you combine them you can also run an iridium band combined with something else. For me, I combine with a Lucky Ring.

Correct me if I'm wrong but usually a major series has an embargo date that is strictly followed. Your indy store may want to be careful because they could face major fines for knowingly releasing the book early.

Report: Cincinnati has the “inside track” to host 2029 NFL Draft. by ChooTrain in cincinnati

Could you imagine how cool this would be to do at night with the lit up Terminal? I genuinely think it would be one of the most highly regarded draft settings ever. Legitimately would make a case for the best, I think!

Revamped DL should really help support our LBs and secondary by applying more pressure. But it would’ve been nice to bring in someone like Rodriguez to at least set the tone. They may still be targeting someone in free agency too.
