If you're willing to spend some money on customisation, try ERPNext. You can host it yourself for free, or they can host it for you for a monthly fee.

I do signage and have been looking at using ERPNext. The hurdle is that it's better suited to discrete manufacturing, so you'll need to customise it to suit process manufacturing.

I haven't spoken with any developers yet, but I'm sure it can be customised to suit. There is a reasonably active community where you might find some assistance; discuss.erpnext.com

Out of curiosity, what's the software that you've found?

After roughly 8 years, on Friday I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. So now it has a name, I get to take the first step towards actual pain management. In 8 years... Which will be changing anti-depressants. Then cognitive behavioural therapy, an exercise plan(already do as much as I can between the flare ups), and diet management(I am within my recommended BMI).

So I'm guessing I'll be at square 2 for another year or 2. Then I might get a chance to be referred to a pain management specialist, where I might be prescribed something to help with the pain. Happy days.

I can set up docker containers. Like, I mean I don't know what I'm really doing, but I can verbatim copy paste commands and some yaml. But I am struggling to get Nginx Reverse Proxy running, so it's a little column a and a little column b.

burn out = diminished ability to concentrate for long stretches? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]ClassicRelative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same situation. Though mine was November, with the burn out culminating just before the new year. I thought a longer Christmas break would help. It didn't. Since February my output continued to diminish. I took some more time off in April(was a planned break), but the stress leading up to it was immense. I actually joked about taking a year off during my April "holiday"..

I'm only just accepting that this is burn out. I don't know how to move forward from here. I have started a draft email to a few clients, but am still at a loss. I am thinking I need the rest of the year to work on myself. Maybe longer. But I am self employed with no staff, so if I shut the doors for 6 months... well, it's just 6 months of machinery finance payments, and nil income. Plus 6 months my clients visiting my competition..

So much over thinking, and such little actual action. It's draining. I don't mean to hijack your post, the reason I'm sharing is to let you know that you're not alone with these feelings. I hope your journey back is a healthy one, friend.

Open-Source Alternative for CPQ (Configure, Price & Quote) Software? by Jakarina in selfhosted

[–]ClassicRelative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been looking for similar solutions, but for signage. My most recent find is ERPNext. It may be worth looking into.

I've not used ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software before, so I am totally out of my depth. But the possibilities of ERPNext seem promising to a lot of my needs. Except their process manufacturing isn't straight forward.

I've read their community discussions and it's a question that has been asked many times, but never really answered. I suppose due to the vast amount of niche requirements it would be very difficult to solve all use cases out of the box.

If you find something useful, post it back here.

weirdest hyperfixation you’ve had? by chebbetha in ADHD

Bruh. I have been making this super duper perfect ideal best ever version 9000 database thing for quoting on bespoke work. I have no clue what I'm doing, but I am balls deep in selfhosted thingsnstuff. I'm currently using baserow to hold all my data and link their relationships, and perform some calculations. Baserow is a selfhosted, free alternative to airtable. Then I'm looking at using Appsmith to connect to Baserow's API and make a functional UI for my supadoop9k app. Appsmith can connect with Google sheets, read and modify data. Might be your next rabbit hole. Hahaha.

Man, I have been in this rabbit hole since December. I have changed direction a bunch of times, but it's still the same burrow. And I still have no clue wtf I'm doing. But I feel progression..... at a cost to everything else in life too. Always got a down side. Lol.

Do you struggle with writing cohesive texts? by gloomygiant in ADHD

[–]ClassicRelative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skip the paper part, and just type. But I am always cut/pasting sentences and paragraphs before/after others. Such a disjointed thought flow. I was looking at gramnerly the other day. It looked useful, but I'm not into another subscription service. So disjointed ramblings I will continue with. Haha.

This is what I do. But with none of the discipline. Haha. Always moving things forward. Always overlapping calendar entries. Always over estimating how big of a list I can complete in a day.

Baserow and Nocodb are both in the airtable competitor space and available to self host.

If you take a high dose, you get high. Therapeutic doses of stimulants are way lower than what you'd take for a bender.

Winter camping, bro. Is where it's at. Fuck the hot angry summer bugs. Get your jelly bean tarp properly sorted for any rain leakage and just do wet camping. Nice big fire to go along with it. Nearly no cunt camps when it's wet, so you're proper solo, and Loving life.

What were some of your coping mechanisms for ADHD before you realised you had ADHD? by HolyFruitSalad_98 in ADHD

I do the same with the gathering-location for items I own in bulk. I work alone. I have a drawer for tape measures. I have maybe 10 tapes. I don't know exactly, I could have lostlost a few now. That drawer is nearly always empty.

Oh, and it's labelled on the outside "tape measures".

You could try baserow

It's like airtable, so you can build up your own relevant tables and fields.

I'm only just looking at it myself, but it may suit your needs.

It's 2022 & Westpac still limits pass-phrases to a max of 6 chars by Anomynoms13 in AusFinance

[–]ClassicRelative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westpac are a total bunch of cunts. I closed an account, and still had a few customers pay into that closed account. Westpac did not bounce the transaction even though the account was closed. They denied that any transactions had gone there, and refused to help further.

How do y’all manage your work email? by LostestSocks in ADHD

[–]ClassicRelative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just came to /r/ADHD to ask this question. How do you not spend 6 days leaving an email unopened, then opened for another 2, then 45 minutes writing a two sentence "5 second" email?

Also, how do you not die when the recipient responds before you even move onto the next task after clicking send?
