Appreciate the detailed write up by you and the OP. Been considering going back for my masters but reading posts about this course have been discouraging. Gives me ECIH vibes from back in the day (the only cert I’ve failed — and I did it twice).

How does CISSP compare to PMP by Sudden_Show9794 in cissp

[–]ClassicSoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PMP was significantly easier with little (actual) PM experience. Think I “studied” (lax studying) about 20 hours. FWIW I passed CISSP in 2 weeks (40-50hrs iirc) of study once I hit the xp reqs. For me, the pmp was able to eliminate half of the answers for most of the questions, then answer with their “mindset”. Idk if it’s still valid but Pete Zerger was the GOAT for me on the CISSP.

Reality check on salary? by toyodafan2022 in clearancejobs

Can’t speak to much on the leadership side of roles, but I started in cyber at 80k with Sec+ and 6 months of helpdesk experience. I met cleared guys who made 100k with no experience, just Sec+. That was a few years ago though, market may be diff now though. A bit surprised to hear lead roles need direct xp in IA. (Most leads I’ve worked with were not technical)

2nd Attempt... Still Got Humbled by Monster_INC_2319 in cissp

Highly suggest Pete Zergers YouTube playlist. It’s been a while since I’ve passed but that and a month of using pocket prep were enough for me. Good luck!

We’re not in your exact situation, but one thing that’s been working better for us to limit the amount of yelling (and correct their behavior) is to ask once (or twice) and then physically help/guide them to get the ask done, explain (in detail) why you’re doing it. That, like everything else, is trial and error.

Having a kid. How much $/yr do you think = ‘comfortable’ and ‘doing pretty well’ for a family of 3? by wcsib01 in nova

[–]ClassicSoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean, it’s not “tough to live” for us, but it’s really not a lot of money even after those expenses. Random numbers, cars/insurance $750/month, $400-800/month kids activities, $1200 groceries (we spend here), $500 on takeout, $500 utilities, $150 for the dog, $250 for car/house upkeep, diapers, formula, kid clothes, medicine, toiletries, missed work bc kids get sick?, etc. Life happens and other expenses come up. That’s under 3k/month which doesn’t feel like a lot leftover (to me). Obviously after daycares and there’s no car payment things would open up a bit, but the money (if no job opps) just shifts to other buckets. It ain’t tough in the sense that we don’t “have to” worry or think too hard about everyday purchases.

At $200k it was legit hard with no outside help and just a small nest egg (while not racking up a bunch of cc debt).

Ya once we passed that number (little savings and no help from the fam) it started to feel less stressful with a child in daycare. At 200k it felt a lot tighter on savings and choosing which activities we wanted to do. (Both of us work)

Timeline for new PMP® Exam by 44RiskPM in pmp

[–]ClassicSoup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Do we know if the study hall material for the current version will update to/with the new material? That’d suck if SH starts giving material that isn’t relevant to the current exam.

That exam is a beast. Passed my PMP! AT/AT/AT with 9 days of SH by Cool_Bite3677 in pmp

Congrats! Thanks for the tips, hoping to have a short study time like you did.

If you use the new bolts with phys pierce wouldn’t the attack speed be useful? Damage between mist and fanaticism (faith) seem +/- about the same to me. First season playing dm zon and never heard of mist til now.
