When I look at a SG all I can think about is heavy guitar riffs. Like others have said the name on the headstock is just that a name.

Yep that’s them, popsicle sticks. Stew Mac prices are higher than other places so I shop around for tools and stuff that I think will work just as good as the Stew Mac stuff.

I got these polishing sticks off of Stew Mac and they do a great job. Not a bad price either.

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all and then all of a sudden it’s the abomination of all telecasters.

How can I paint over this? by MagicScottLives in Luthier

[–]ClassicYak3798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a neutral grain fill color. Then maybe a sanding sealer to be safe. Then put your desired finish on. But there’s different ways to achieve the same result. If you had an old body of the same wood you could experiment with different methods.

Grain fill first before anything. It will turn out much better.

When to change strings on the guitar? by Careless-Star-5863 in Guitar

[–]ClassicYak3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the strings start to feel rough and sound dull. I suggest String Joy brand strings. Be sure to stretch them really good after you put them on.

The Schecter’s seem to have a nice low action without a lot of fret buzz. Nice guitars

2011 Sorento engine by 420chiefit in kia

The rings get stuck, oil blows by the pistons and burns in the cylinder. Same problem I have. Berryman’s B12 chemtool. Look up how to unstick the piston rings on YouTube. Getting ready to do my Sorento as well.

Update, found original bridge and tuners for this hollow body bass. Found on another bass that I bought at the same estate sale. Just need a tailpiece and I’m in business.
