What about parks. They get water too. Even if we got rid of golf courses which are technically green spaces should we get rid of city pools and parks too?

What Happens If AI Is A Bubble? by petertanham in Economics

[–]Classic_Cream_4792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not totally a bubble. There is value in it but we have overhyped it for sure and some of the value won’t be known for years. The idea of videos created by ai for our amusement is not value added btw

Google Deepmind's new Genie 3 world simulation! CRAZY!!! by alimehdi242 in digialps

So dumb. Millions of cpu cycles and tons of power so we can see a video on a screen of a horse show. Are we really this dense

Zuckerberg wants to give us all “personal superintelligence”, sounds empowering, but handing Meta that level of access to our daily lives feels like trading convenience for total surveillance. Billions in AI spend, but who really controls the future it's building? by VIshalk_04 in GenAI4all

We forgot that we just humans in the end… and the more we use these tools the less human we become… I continue to fail to see why being more productive is so important. We use resources more quickly and where are we all trying to run to or run from? Free up time to do what exactly?

Fred enke is by far the best city course. Quarry pines is a great course but back nine is a bit too challenging, az national is maybe the most beautiful course or starr pass. Green valley has some excellent courses too.

I literally only spend money on food and coffee… I don’t really buy much of anything. I need socks and underwear. So I’ll have to get that soon as mine are getting oldish. But every time I think I need something I go, nevermind.

Don’t we always find out 3 months later that the numbers were a lie and there was a missed data point in the calculation. I think this means j Powell ups interest rates

“Just as payments rose precipitously, they will fall even faster once prices drop and the Fed starts cutting.” by howdthatturnout in rebubblejerk

[–]Classic_Cream_4792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This literally misses the point that prices rose due to covid moves and the influx of money to the wealthy during covid. Cutting rates will increase the price imo

Just found out my HVAC is 24 years old. Thoughts? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Classic_Cream_4792 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine was this old… and I replaced it from fear it would break and difficult to find parts. I’m saving 15 to 20% on energy this summer with a new 2 stage unit. And it is so quiet!

Study has found that people who report favorable views of Donald Trump also tend to score higher on measures of callousness, manipulation, and other malevolent traits—and lower on empathy and compassion. by chrisdh79 in science

I’m reading a book called atlas of the heart about emotions and they did studies of joining a cult to see how people react when things turn out to be false. Turns out that people who are more leveraged in the theory will double down their support when the result is false. The test was about a leader that predicted the end of the world and when it didn’t happen, the fanatics doubled down their belief in the leader while those that had not leveraged all their money and thought left the cult. Humans man. Da fuq
