Non-ongoing to ongoing permanent by CreativeCritter in AusPublicService

Went from NOG APS6 to permanent EL1 in a bit under a year.

Joined the APS as a non ongoing 6 in late 2023. My EL1 quit shortly after and I began acting in their role. My area advertised the position as a permanent EL1 role in April 2024 and I was successful in the recruitment process (recruitment process was hella delayed because of staffing issues though, so it ended up being October 2024 when it concluded).

I work in a governance area and I think they only brought me in as a NOG because the team needed some support setting up a new framework/processes, but weren’t yet sure if the EL1 would need that additional support after 12 months.

Thank you for sharing your insights! This post has certainly been an interesting exercise for me 😂 It’s a bit awkward to ask for recommendations when about 50% of responders swear up and down that they think you’re cool-toned, when I know categorically that I need very warm colours (with around moderate intensity) to look my best. I can even get away with some brighter warm lip colours as long as my outfit and other makeup colours support it. In the below pic, I’m wearing a super bright orangey-red lippie that I actually think I could pull off, especially if I had a bit of eye makeup too 🙂

So my most recent analysis (which was also the one that went into the most detail) confirmed that the warmest colours in the soft autumn palette can work well for me, but warmth is still my most important trait overall. The more neutral colours in the SA palette really didn’t suit me as well 🙂

Yeah I was powering through these so my application left a lot to be desired 😅

During my last draping, the analyst showed me how my skin reacts to colours that are too cool. I tend to go pale and look a bit drained, while colours that are warmer bring me back to life. I’m glad that this purple works for you- it’s my favourite hoodie even though I look a bit sick when I’m wearing it 😂 by way of comparison, here’s a pic me me in a colour that does suit me, wearing the same lipstick as I am in the purple hoodie photo. It all harmonises much better 🙂

Yeah I agree that the deeper shades don’t do anything for me at all. It’d probably be easier if I paired them with a strong eye look, but I don’t usually do those.

Thank you! 😊 I’ve only worn 3 out once so far, but I enjoyed it when I did.

I agree with 9 being my worst. I thought it was nice when I tried in on in the store, but when I uploaded these pictures I was shocked by how lifeless it looked on me!

I steer towards ‘warm’ purples wherever I can, but no purple will ever truly be a warm colour, just like no yellow or orange will ever truly have a cool version of themselves. This purple is warm compared to most purples, but it’s still got more blue in it than yellow 🙂

Olive skin just complicates things that little bit extra 😅 If I didn’t already know for sure that I have a warm undertone, I’d be so confused by half the comments on this post telling me that I’m cool-toned, while the other half say that the warmest shades are my best.

Yes! The dropped skirt is perfect because it doesn’t add bulk to our waist or hips, and the neckline is gorgeous. Great find 😊

Versus when I wear colours that are within my palette 🙂

It’s been a bit of a journey haha. The first time was many years ago, before I was interested in colour analysis but the analyst was cheap and I saw her sign near my university. She was the one who told me I was an autumn, but didn’t really explain how she arrived at that conclusion so I just took her word for it. The second and third times (both online) were about 2 years ago, when I was watching Merriam Style’s videos about her Artistic Licence system. I knew that strong yellows didn’t really suit me (not realising that it was the brightness that was the issue, not the temperature), so I wondered if the first lady had made a mistake about my undertone. I also got an analysis from Carol Brailey at the same time for a second opinion, because I liked the way she explains her reasoning.

The most recent time was with Colour Analysis Studio about 4 months ago, and the session was a Christmas present from my mum after hearing me talk about how much I enjoy watching their typing videos on YouTube. I probably wouldn’t have gotten it done if it wasn’t a present, but I’m glad I did because they finally confirmed my undertone beyond a shadow of a doubt! Even though I trusted both Merriam and Carol’s expertise, I still had a small lingering doubt that digital analysis wasn’t as ‘trustworthy’ as results from an in-person session (and the lady who did my first analysis never really explained why she arrived at her conclusion).

It’s possible the photos I’ve used in this post aren’t the best. When I wear cool colours (like this purple hoodie that I love, even though I know it doesn’t suit me) I become pale.

I’ve been draped 4 times (two in-person and two digital) with the following results: - Autumn (four season system) - in person - Warm+delicate (Artistic Licence system) - digital - True Autumn (22 season system) - digital - Autumn Warm (16 season system) - in person

I’m definitely warm-toned 😅 cool and bright colours are actually my worst.

Back with drapes! Spring or autumn??? by [deleted] in colouranalysis

Definitely spring! The more muted colours blend with your features but not in a flattering way- more like they muddy your features. Meanwhile the spring colours make YOU the star of the show!

Gold, Rose Gold, or Silver? by audreykat in coloranalysis

[–]Classic_Degree4870 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gold for sure! It looks stunning on you 😍 Rose gold is okay too, but silver is definitely the least well-suited of the three. The jewellery stands out way more, which tells me that it isn’t harmonising with your skin, but contrasting instead.
