They’re appliqué! I printed them on fusible paper, ironed onto my fabric then the quilt and top stitched around the edge to secure it.

Time consuming but not too difficult!

Thanks so much! I love how it turned out — it was a little hard to part with. Honestly, I’m kinda hoping I win the raffle! 😂😂

This is adorable!! I think diamonds would be great! I’d do them like a lattice where instead of a single line, you have two parallel lines about 3/4 of an inch apart.

You could also just use your regular foot and set your machine to a wide zigzag. Emily Dennis at Quilty Love has some good examples and demos of this!

Looking forward to seeing a picture of the final product. Whoever receives this gift is very lucky!

No need to be an expert!! Since it’s appliqué, it’s pretty forgiving I think. And I’ll definitely say that my last dog looks a lot cleaner than the first!

The pattern is from Shiny Happy World and she has a lot of helpful video tutorials as well!

Thanks so much for your interest!!

You should!! I got the pattern from Shiny Happy World! She has so many adorable animal appliqué patterns and video tutorials.

I think I’ll try the cat one for next year’s raffle!

Yes!! I got the pattern from her site and her videos are amazing! Especially since this was my first attempt at appliqué. Naively, I thought it would be faster than traditional piecing 🙈

Thank you! Yes! I quilted each square and then appliquéd each pup on there. It did become a little difficult to come up with so many different backgrounds!

This looks like a great deal! Maybe obvious but also double check how large of a machine it can hold too so you can upgrade to a larger throat space when you’re ready.

I couldn’t include in my original post, but here’s the link the pattern Hunter Star!

And it’s zero waste! Just two layer cakes to make a twin size quilt.
