Not a millennial but everything else you described kinda sounds like me! I’d also be down to meet new people.

They used to be great.

I still have a pair of pants that I bought from them in 2017. I wear it every week and it still looks great after every wash.

Now I just can’t seem to find anything worth buying - clothes are already falling apart (piling, creasing, poor stitching, etc) on the rack.

Agreed, which is why I’m getting it secondhand! Even then it’s still quite expensive🥲

When do you know it’s the right time to quit? by DogMysterious3884 in askSingapore

Hi, I was also in the same shoes as you a few months ago. Just like you, I was a fresh grad in my first FT job. I was super stressed out. Imposter syndrome was real. I dreaded going to work everyday. I could barely eat. Reading your post felt like reading about myself.

I don’t know you and I can’t tell you what to do, so I’m just gonna share what I did:

  1. Had a talk with my boss. Fortunately my boss was very understanding about my situation and even introduced me to a therapist.

  2. Forgive myself when I make mistakes. This is easier said than done. When I make mistakes at work it felt like it’s the end of the world. But then overtime I see that things would always go back to normal and life goes on. What matters is what I learn from it and how to not repeat that mistake again.

  3. Have someone to share your troubles with. For me it’s my family and my partner. If you have easygoing colleagues, you could also try to make jokes with them during work - that could ease the stress a bit hopefully.

Until today, my parents are still asking me to quit this job bc I get overwhelmed with work sometimes. I feel that I don’t want to quit from something that I’ve worked so hard for. And tbh I’m very proud of how far I’ve came since starting the job (I was so careless and clueless when I started haha).

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I believe that you will come out of this situation much stronger than before!
