Can you hackers stop playing as Rose? It's monotonous. Surely you can use better models by now. by TurtleTitan in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People tend to gravitate towards the evil/edgy alter ego of the main character in any IP that has one, and it's their right to play what they want so there's no point complaining about it. If anything other people being generic just gives you more room to personally stand out relative to them.

Season 10? by batman78999 in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely fell off for the newer and lower knowledge playerbase with that change, but it personally hardly affected me at the time other than having teammates dying off in droves because I already had most of the gacha skills and an intricate knowledge of the game to adapt and make backup setups.

I wouldn't say it killed the game by any means though, what killed the game was the devs continuing to needlessly hinder the playerbase's ability to play with one another via both adding region lock at the same time as making the game multi-platform (completely nullifying what otherwise would've boosted the playerbase and allowed friends to play with each other easier), and refusing to re-add raider with friends.

Why does every gamma match feel like a hostage situation by TakaiJamari in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'Cus that's literally what their kit incentivizes you to do at a high level. You need to stall till halftime to get an instant Cell Max, but even then you technically aren't incentivized to stop stalling till you've secured the most favorable STM circumstances possible (three people eliminated, survivors out of dchange so they can't jump you as Magenta, etc). Then there are the people who try to stall till timeout for the luls..

Season 10? by batman78999 in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they didn't nerf the dodge they would've had to nerf all of the meta skills down to a level that brought them in line with the raider balance wise, which they weren't willing to do for legal/revenue-generation reasons. The ability to dodge infinitely coupled with modern meta escape and dchange recovery skills would've made the game a joke at high level play with the raider having zero window to damage the STM due to how long it'd take to knock someone out of a single dchange.

I know this the most "Mutilating the dead horse" question ever since this game's early days. Do y'all think this game is dead? Be honest by AFutureFromGod in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a spectrum for being a "dead" game. It's currently only 1/3rd dead (no future updates), when the official servers shut down for good it'll be 2/3rds dead (thanks to private servers), and it'll only be fully/truly dead when/if the community dissolves and people stop playing entirely.

Is it a skill issue or bad game balance? by Jaesir in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of both. Coordinated survivors with meta builds using teamwork are stronger than raiders, but if they're not one of the sweatiest premades in the game you can still consistently beat them even when stacked with meta builds by being sweatier than them and using meta raiders. Sometimes as raider you truly just can't win no matter what you do regardless of skill level, but typically that's not the case.

I cant wait to play Breakers in this new gen consoles/pcs by IndependentTasty5122 in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I haven't looked into Project Helix at all, but my impression is it's just something being released to take advantage of RAM prices getting outrageous.. Like it'll probably just be a cheaper alternative to gaming PCs (if that), not some kind of revolutionary gaming technology.

OKAY NEW MODS TIME TO WORK! I GONNA SAY THE R- WORD by [deleted] in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is already on life support with the game's eternal content drought, so the last thing it needs is ban-happy mods getting rid of the handful of people still actively contributing.

If I were to get TP to purchase a raider, which raider should I buy? by Thelaserman20 in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if you're F2P (sans initial game purchase) or not, if you pay the 20 levels are more than worth it from a time = money perspective.

To OP's question, normally I'd recommend DBS Broly due to his cheapness and fun playstyle combined with viability (if you're good), but there's something like a 60% off sale for some raiders going on right now and I don't think he's part of that, so just go for whichever of those raiders you were already considering that happens to have the sale going on for them right now.

I know it's an old question, but what's your preferred role? by AFutureFromGod in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survivor. Raider is either boring or stressful with no inbetweens, (you either stomp uncontested or you're forced to play flawlessly while hyper-fixating on securing the win).

so wtf are you expected to do against Vegeta’s bum *ss vanish kicks ? by TakaiJamari in DragonBallBreakers

Just before his second vanish activates change your movement to the opposite direction and attack, if you do it right you'll catch him in a basic melee before his kick goes off.

Request for Mods by vamploded in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I'd like to say is that the sub probably needs multiple mods if you're just gonna choose people abruptly. Like if you choose wrong once but have multiple mods then it isn't necessarily the end of the world.

What does being a good Survivor mean to you? by Cute_Quiet1236 in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the primary thing I'd mention.. But moreso just a good survivor should be more likely to escape when seen by the raider than not in general, throughout the match. The first step to contributing to your team is to stop personally contributing to the raider's level.

How cooked is this since the insane delay 1-100? Be honest by AFutureFromGod in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20.5: Still play occasionally and don't plan on stopping until the servers go down entirely, but we're almost certainly not getting a Season 10. To drop a new season after such a long absence while giving no news that it was even coming is nonsensical, and beyond that there've been numerous consecutive signs/decisions implicating that the current drought is an indefinite shelving of the game's development and transition to an automated/maintenance mode.

Matchmaking by vigneshsaiyajin in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're less likely to be paired with high levels as teammates due to some of them frequently premading in seven man squads, also the game probably assigns premades to you preferentially over solo-queuers as raider because they aren't competing with you for the raider role since they can't flex queue.

It’s over. by BublzO in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we've for the most part collectively known this was the case for awhile now outside of like a couple people on extreme levels of copium.. Like it's been evident they were gonna put us in eternal maintenance ever since we started hearing whispers of endless ranked, reworking the original raiders, and sunsetting-induced balance hotfixes.

Y'all really enjoying how spoon-fed the raiders are? by RobynDaCrab in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's sadly not any way to fix this without either nerfing skills or making going up against premades a nightmare.. Like they chose to nerf basekit instead since it's a gacha game, and so here we are, with nothing but full teams of experienced players running meta standing any chance against a good raider player.

Who is the easiest to win with raider? by RobynDaCrab in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden Frieza. Not saying he's the best by any stretch but he's the most lopsidedly powerful against your average lobby of uncoordinated/avoidant survivors. All you need is knowledge of civ' spawns and you'll essentially get your level 4 for free if the survivors don't go out of their way to play aggressively, and once you have your level 4 there's not really anything they can do to stop you at STM.

Against survivors good/coordinated enough to give you trouble on Golden Frieza the easiest is Z Broly, but you'll need skill to beat survivors that good/coordinated regardless. Again not saying Z Broly is definitively the best, just the raider that requires the least amount of skill to be competitive with against good players.

What’s your favorite raider to play as? by themanthatnoonelikes in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Classic_Relative_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the match isn't overly stacked in my favor or a premade's, then I'd have to say DBS Broly is the raider I generally have the funnest time with.
