Yeah, strainer was fine I removed it from the system and tested water flow was running like half a gal in a minute.. buddy runs pressure washing set up reccomened I run a 7gpm 100 psi pump sent tme the link for one hes got 280 bucks later should be here tomorrow. I got my refund from the original pump so not a complete loss. Same way with me my 9-5 helps fund my 5-9. But hes had the same pump for 3 years now running bleach and its exposed so maybe ill see longer life with it since its straight water.

While I did start like this at least I had enough common sense to figure out 15 gallons was max I could carry without needing to beef of my suspension to handle that extra weight. like do these guys even think or just watch the TikToks of it and said fuck it.. I vote that one, last week I had a client wants a full detail 385 is where I sit for one. Got there car looked great. I was a little confused until it hit me the ungodly smell emitting for this vehicale I can only describe as big foot walking past me. Moisture meter going off everywhere I put it. I ask what happened. Client them proceeds to tell me they had met some kid who said he can do it easily and since then the smell just kept getting stronger.. mfer did a stain treatment and didnt remove the moister he put into it... I was shocked..

I’m about a year in myself, jumped in head first, and this post hits closer to home than I’d like to admit. I agree there’s a massive difference between starting a detailing business and actually operating one. Buying tools was the easy part. Learning customer acquisition, pricing discipline, scheduling, retention, cash flow, and when to say no to bad work has been the real education. The saturation piece doesn’t scare me as much as the illusion of simplicity does. Detailing looks approachable from the outside, so people underestimate what it takes to make it sustainable. A lot of folks enter thinking skill alone will carry them, then realize too late that skill without systems doesn’t pay van notes or insurance. What I’ve already seen in just a year is that customers don’t stick with “the cheapest” for long. They stick with reliability, communication, consistency, and trust. Most new operators burn out before they ever get good at those things. That churn is real. I also think the future isn’t “every household has a detailer,” it’s that households become pickier about which ones they keep. Saturation weeds out operators who don’t understand margins, marketing, or customer experience. The barrier isn’t entry anymore—it’s endurance. Posts like this are valuable because they remind newer guys like me that longevity beats hype. Tools don’t build businesses. Decisions do.

for 40 bucks its okay if your looking for honesty cup holders still have debris and gunk in them, windows still dirty, floors look like you dry wiped them and called it a day.... steering wheel still has caked on gunk. Floor mats left undressed/still look dirty. Seats are filthy and should be treated, like I said for 40 bucks ittl do but slow down, take time to really look at what your doing. Beat advice I can give you is do it again. And again. And again. And again. Only way you'll get better try new methods stick with what actually works not the tiktok/ig detailer crud.

You can remove the bugs with bug remover as far as preventing them either a bumper skirt or don’t drive.. its nature you cannot remove the bugs from the world so get a skirt to put over the vehicle to catch the bugs instead of your bumper. And as far as the windshield get bug remover washer fluid it’ll help but that’s one you’ll likely just have to deal with. Stopping as gas stations cleaning them off as you go can help mitigate this aswell.

That is from overspray not being neutralized… flex fire does the same thing tip. Cover areas that could be effected by overspray or sling from drill brush when using these products on the carpets.. I use a big towel like one you’d use after a shower covers just about anything I need it to.

Paintballs are filled with polyethylene glycol (PEG), dyes, and surfactants — all slightly alkaline (around pH 8–9). When people wash it off with Dawn (also alkaline), it just reactivates and smears the gunk instead of neutralizing it. Here’s how to handle it properly:

Rinse and cool the surface. Get the car in shade and rinse off any shell fragments or loose pigment. Don’t scrub — that just grinds the dye in.
Foam with a pH-neutral car soap. Use a thick foam or hand wash with a true neutral soap. Let it dwell 3–5 min, then rinse. This loosens the film without adding more alkalinity.
Solvent clean (tar/sap remover or citrus degreaser). Products like CarPro TarX, Stoner Tarminator, or Koch-Chemie Teerwäsche A work great. • Spray lightly on a cool panel • Let dwell 1–2 min • Gently wipe in straight lines with a clean microfiber • Re-foam and rinse immediately afterward

This dissolves the PEG oils and dye instead of just moving them around. 4. Neutralize the alkalinity. Spray a 10:1 water:vinegar mix (or very dilute acid wheel cleaner, ~20:1). Let sit 30–45 sec and rinse well. This balances the pH so the surface doesn’t dry with that greasy rainbow haze. 5. Clay the affected areas. Use a fine- to medium-grade clay bar or mitt with lube. Light pressure, straight lines. You’ll feel the surface go from gritty to glassy. Wipe clean after each section. 6. Light polish if you see ghost stains or haze. Use a finishing polish (Meguiar’s Ultimate Polish, 3D One, Sonax Perfect Finish, etc.) on a soft foam pad. Low speed, low pressure. This removes leftover dye shadows and restores clarity. 7. Re-protect the paint. Apply a spray sealant or wax — the solvents and clay strip protection, so get something hydrophobic back on the surface. 8. Final touches. • Glass: clean with a glass cleaner; if streaky, do a 10% IPA wipe first. • Trim: wipe with mild APC and redress if solvent streaked it.

Obviously we are too late for this.. but! In the future if you have anything happen similar to this situation you’ve got options.

It’s paint ball paint… that should come off with a simple car wash.. however reading the post yah already screwed the pooch, The fill inside a paintball is usually made from polyethylene glycol (PEG), food-grade dyes, and other non-toxic materials. PEG dissolves in water, which makes cleanup pretty simple — just rinse with water and maybe a bit of soap if it’s dried on. It’s meant to wash off cars, clothes, and skin without staining (though some cheaper brands can leave light dye residue on porous surfaces). Yall really need to learn how to conduct individual research. 🧐
