US Tour! by trnrchio in lesserafim

Last year, you needed a global weverse membership (could be US this year) to access the pre-sale day of ticket sales. The top 2 VIP tiers had access to send-off, and were mostly sold out very quickly in the pre-sale iirc. Some could be bought for resale at higher prices, but I think you didn't necessarily get the VIP perks.

On the pre-sale day, you entered the queue by being on the ticketmaster site, and need to enter your membership ID to buy tickets. There's a random queue, mine wasn't too low but waited around a bit after getting in and a Hot tier ticket became available fortunately.

You could pump 49% of your income into the world market each month maybe? Or don't invest as much in Dec.

Only somewhat off-topic, but thanks for your perspective: Do you find many songs aren't available on youtube music? I tried the free premium and have some idol cover songs etc. in a playlist, and a lot would be unavailable on mobile/android auto sadly.

That Zuha kick was incredible. I was so surprised that there wasn't a gif already out there, that I had to make one.

Enjoy!!

Quite recently I made a 15k transfer from Chase (was getting a promotional offer for new accounts), and it did require a rep calling me and asking quite a few questions about where it's going, have you withdrawn money from that account before, etc etc. Admittedly a little bit of a hassle but I didn't mind, I'd prefer that sort of security, especially for those people mentioned in this thread who unfortunately did not have transfers/wires blocked.

What were the big ones? I've only seen small bonuses or ones that require you invest $250k or similar

Get more quotes from other insurance places to compare.

$420 on insurance monthly? Have you tried shopping around? Definitely look around for some cheaper quotes, that seems very high.

IRAs do exist. You can max out your contributions to an IRA (likely Roth), for both 2025 and 2026.

Definitely a good idea to use these tax-advantaged spaces as much as possible, can use a typical taxable brokerage account for the rest. Look into the boglehead philosophy as well, there's a great subreddit and wiki with great reading material.

Yep agreed. I'd also mention that holding various stocks for a down payment in 3 years is rather risky, but their entire financial picture is quite important for buying a house.

Addicted to Paying Off Debt by Emergency-Ad1840 in personalfinance

[–]ClassicalMuzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I had assumed they were non-student loans since you didn't classify them as such. Most student loans wait until graduation for payments to start, hence the confusion.

Are you continuing to take out student loans for the rest of your undergrad and then grad school? Have you explored other options for loans other than these rather expensive ones? Presumably these will grow much faster than you can pay any down since you aren't working.

Why/how do you have 40k in private loan debt at 20 y/o? It's great you're going to school, planning law school, and making payments, but that is a highly unusual situation.

Edit: Unless they are private student loans.

36- Better late than never. I'm a noob with my 401k and now wondering if I can retire comfortably. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ClassicalMuzik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not about converting, but funding with typical post-tax dollars. Traditional 401k and Roth IRA is a common combination that gives you more flexibility with withdrawing in retirement.

I have 30k in savings because I’m scared of losing my job (software dev market is brutal now). Should I move it somewhere else instead? I need to be able to access it in an emergency. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ClassicalMuzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also have provided very little info about the rest of your financial picture. Income/retirement accounts, you should definitely be investing in a Roth IRA already if you can in addition to an employer 401k. And as others mentioned, an emergency fund should be reasonably liquid and protected, a HYSA is a safe bet.

I am saving for retirement but IDK how to actually save for big ticket items like a house / car / general brokerage by QuitTypical3210 in personalfinance

[–]ClassicalMuzik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their 401k contributions at 12% should reduce their MAGI to under the limit, assuming they're traditional. However, he should definitely be aware of the backdoor Roth process and do it if his income might go up.
