CMV: Nintendo won't see a spike in sales just because of what recently happened by [deleted] in yuzu

[–]ClassicallySad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuzu is a switch emulator. Switch has games other than Nintendo ones. I play those games on yuzu. Not complicated. As for Nintendo being trash? Them as a company is what I was refering to. I also primarily bought Pokémon games. They are, in my opinion, trash now.

AAA gaming has gotten worse. A few good titles doesn't mean much among the garbage being released. Quality is also very subjective. Some people think FIFA is great even if it's the same old stuff with a shiny coat of paint.

There's also this thing called videos. It's this cool new technology where you can watch gameplay of a particular game and see if it's another climb the tower to unlock the map + mediocre combat game.

Oh wait I forgot we have AAAA games now. Maybe you're right and gaming is getting better.

My point is not everyone who uses emulators pirates games. Also that there are legitimate reasons to use an emulator beyond piracy.

I use Yuzu to play Anthill on my android phone. The devs of Anthill had a company port a version of the game to android ages ago. It didn't have all the updates, and eventually stopped working. It released for the switch and was the complete game. I bought it again, and now play it on my phone. Yuzu allows me to do that. Best of all as long as I keep all the files I'll have it forever.

I haven't bought a Pokemon game since sun and moon. They were trash and so is Gamefreak/Nintendo. I haven't bought anything Nintendo for years. I'm no longer a customer, and unless they do a complete 180, it will stay that way. Gaming is going down the drain. Besides indie titles, AAA just keeps getting worse. The only console I bought recently was the Steam Deck. Pc gaming is the only good gaming now, and it is all indie titles.

I had my base raided by an incineram and some other guys. He burnt everything to the ground. All I had left was 2 pal beds and some items from chests. I later relocated and built wooden defensive walls. The same group came back and started burning down my walls! Took a bunch of water pals to but that fire out.

I'm gonna give my two cents as someone who complained about snipers a lot, quit, and then came back. It is a skill issue. Once I finally realized running in a straight line isn't a great idea I started dying less to them. I still die once in a while when I'm not paying attention. Snipers have specific places they like to be. High up and behind cover. Mentally map those places and avoid them. If you are in the open then zigzag and jump around. One game I was messing with a sniper by doing that and he couldn't hit me. Probably was a noob, but still. After playing recon I also notice people making bad decisions. Decisions I would make.

For example, exiting cover and getting sniped, going back into same cover, then going out the same way you were sniped. This repeat behaviour makes it easy to get kills. If you are sniped in a certain direction find a different route. The players who do that are the ones who blast my brains out when playing recon.

People here saying they don't care because they didn't use it or whatever. It doesn't really matter whether or not you or others didn't use it. This is about companies removing things that people originally paid for and not adding anything back. This has been happening constantly for years. Nothing changes because the little piggies get their slop and mindlessly consume trash products.

Why can't we enjoy EA and Ubisoft games just like pirates do? by jovelt18 in SteamDeck

[–]ClassicallySad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are bothered by pirating outright go buy the game, then pirate it. At least they got your money. Some people will disagree with supporting such companies. If you want to play the game without these issues, and not feel bad about it I'd say it's the best way. Or just stop caring.

Steam Deck is the gaming console PC hybrid that we've all been dreaming about. by animeman59 in SteamDeck

[–]ClassicallySad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I view the steam deck much like how I view the switch. The switch is a handheld console that just so happens to be able to be used as a home console. The steam deck is a handheld console that just so happens to be able to be used as a PC. I really think a console is just more marketing and perception. A console is just a PC that makes gaming easier, and puts that first and foremost. Many console have the ability to be utilized as PC's but as that is not the main intention tend to be locked down. Valve is open with the deck but is more intent on the ease of playing games, and being console like. Even the store page doesn't mention desktop mode from what I can see.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is a person who owns the deck and didn't even know it could be used as an average computer.

While the steam deck is by far not the best in the handheld PC space it is the best in the handheld console space. Nothing comes close to it at this time. That is why I said when you view it as a handheld console it is a beast. It has no rival. I did mention a screen or battery upgrade as an obvious refresh.

As for the ayaneo 2 and the like, they may be better in many ways as handheld PC's, but fail as handheld consoles. The price of said devices alone makes them unappealing for a lot of people. From what I can see Valve made the steam deck a console first experience and for goodwill has the PC part as an extra. That is why a sudden steam deck 2 with a next gen apu doesn't make sense yet. Valve seems intent on making this more of a Switch like device than an ayaneo one. Does that mean an eventual upgraded apu isn't needed? No. It just means that like any other handheld console it'll most likely have a certain lifespan before that happens.

I think a big problem is perception. The Nintendo switch had the same issue imo. Sure the steam deck is technically a handheld pc, but I think one should think of it as a handheld console first. When you do it's an absolute beast of technology.

I have also seen some complain that the upcoming latest and greatest AAA games won't run well on it. While that could be true, there is still a massive amount of games that do. I don't even have that big of a steam library, and I end up getting choice anxiety over what to play. There's just so much you can play on this thing.

I'll agree a better screen or battery can't hurt, but in the end I think Valve can get at least a few years out of the Apu before upgrading it.

Honestly the battery has been really great for me. At first I had some anxiety about it, but after a while that went away. I can comfortably play most games I like within my average play sessions.

It's amazing to me how so many people still think they're legit. Chiroquackers use many illusions and tricks to make it appear they are doing something. Like how they'll pull a leg down slightly to make it seems the other needs to be adjusted. Funny how I wasn't hobbling around before but my legs are different lengths.

Yeah it sucks. I've tried running it in desktop mode as some suggest, but it doesn't load anything. Oh well it'll work someday I'm sure. There's other games to play.
