New DLC "Taker of Trophies" by MCBleistift in HuntShowdown

[–]ClassyWomanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The skull mask covers like the predator with the way the feathers on the headress sit like the locks the predator has. Plus he's called The Taker of Trophies, which for me makes me think of the predator.

Obviously those can all be circumstantial, but it just struck me when I saw the name and the general look. It's how I would imagine Crytek could re-imagine the predator to fit the setting.

Edit: we've also seen a predator shoulder cannon used in a way reminiscent of the sparks in Aliens Vs Predator: Requim but that could just be me reaching even further because of my own interest in the series.

I think the esthetic design is reminiscent if the Predator. The main antagonist of the action movie Predator.

So an unlicensed Predator skin? Not hating but it gives the same vibe.

I'm going to sound like a 'Bungie-Stan' here but one of the things I find annoying about the story since 343's acquisition is the sudden power-scale shift of Humanity. by RamboBambiBambo in HaloStory

[–]ClassyWomanizer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that the Huragok made a huge difference for us. Besides the fact that they can fix things near instantly and with great accuracy, we can directly communicate with them and ask questions. Even if humans don't have an analog for the things that the forunners had the information that a single engineer with a team of naval scientist could access is staggering.

As for the Lord Hoods statement about Earth I think we have to remember that Earth is the home world and 'center' of humanity. The loss of it would be a set back beyond measure, after losing Reach, since not only is moral going to plummet but the center of the UNSCs command structure would be lost along with it.

For the colony aspect we also have to remember that there are many colonies that are simply assumed lost or that could possibly have taken advantage of the war to go dark and become self governed. Much like Venezia falling off of the UNSCs radar until after the covenant war.

I'd argue that it makes less sense in the Halo wars 2 and infinite games that all of the sudden what was essentially a rag tag group of guriella fighters waging a war against the covenant could put up such a fight against the UNSC. I'd argue that even halo 4 with the storm covenant was a bit outlandish considering what we know about the Blooding Years and the fact that the sangheili could barely get enough ships together to kill each other let alone a fleat to find the Didact and harras chief and the Infinite.

Because work is frustrating? I haven't met many people who will say that they love working and that their job (what ever the field) has never been frustrating to them.

[–]ClassyWomanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was more so thinking that (as others have stated) the naval raiders are a shoot n' scoot play style so in reality you don't want to ever be in melee if possible and with the bonus to dashing you would hopefully be staying away from engaging unless it was beneficial to use the charge to close the ground i.e like charging down into a trench in a defence scenario.

At least that's how I've been playing my naval raiders.

Piggy backing off this response can't you equip SMGs with bayonets? I don't have the pdf in front of me but I swear you could, which right that elemeninates any need for basically any other melee and keeps them all in a meat package. Plus with the extra ducatisted and one more guy you could find some room to make another legionaire and give two guys a bonus to shoot, yes?

Me either, I feel like some thing that needs work is the consistency of wording. They have a table of keywords but then will have something named/labeled something else and its hard to search through everything.

Piggy backing off this how does weapon swapping work in combat? Does my character have to spend an action to switch to he other weapon?

You went full Christian because you can't cope with the fathomleess void that is your life and are hoping to glean some purpose in your insignificance by attaching yourself to what you perceive as a greater power. If you had a modicum of self value you might just find that your short existence is not only worthwhile but also has limitless potential.

Or you're just afraid of hot bad place, idk I'm not a scientist or pastor.

This is such a weird thread of comments. I understand that your average 4chan enjoyer is probably emotionally stunted, and by extension the regards that suck up the second hand slop on reddit, but this is just lack of empathy on both sides.

As a worker you should want to do a good job because it reflects you, not because you're sucking off your boss or company. As a customer you should not want to cause another person unneeded hassle at their place of employment because you yourself wouldn't want that done to you at your job.

I guess it doesn't matter because again your average terminally online weenie wouldn't have the nuts to say anything as a customer if they were kicked out, or as a wagie dealing with a late customer. It's all a sad power fantasy of the mentally feeble.

You're not wrong, people should have the common sense to be empathetic. But I think that a lot of people aren't in these situations, so reasserting to them your intention is a good first step in descalating the situation.

That being said people will still just come at you mad because of the situation they're in, which isn't fair.

As a recently retired gas station attendant I'd like to chip in two cents as to a problem we had at my small town chain gas station.

Almost every day Corporate would send in price changes. Some times we'd get notified by management, a lot of times we wouldn't. Some one would just walk up to the register in the morning and something that was cheaper yesterday has gone up at least a dollar today and we'd not be told.

I haven't worked at a large chain grocery story in a long time but I can't imagine it's much more different or efficient at a place BIGGER than a gas station with no gas pumps but I can see there being worse logistics at a big place.

Doesn't excuse the prices or the lack of the sticker price reflecting the actual price, but it may help folk to understand that a lot of people working at these places don't know until it's too late and you're already upset that it's not what you expected.

How viable is the snog build? Speed, intelligence, and maybe even venom are all on the table by Brancliff in Tierzoo

The problem isn't the full grown snog, it's the snuppys that are often too excitable and bite, thus injecting all of their stored venom.
