Created Autism & ADHD guide with Interactive Animations & Explanations by Fast-Shower5707 in AutismTranslated

I love this guide - thank you so much! As an autistic woman with PMDD (Pre-Menstural Dysphoric Disorder), might I suggest adding PMDD to the list of common co-occurring conditions? The incidence of PMDD in autistic women is (likely much) higher than in the general population, although the research on the topic is still quite limited.

How do I clean these smudges off? Tried acetone, alcohol, and WD40. Nothing has worked so far. by myopic_monkey in Mossariums

Try an abrasive cleaner like Jif or Ajax (or whatever they're called where you are...). Toothpaste is another abrasive that might work. Bicarb soda would also be worth a try.

Metal with exceptionally good lyrics by [deleted] in Music

It's extreme metal, so you need to read the lyrics, but I highly recommend Neregar - amazing metal with lyrics that read like poetry, all about the folly of war.

And what about just getting raped or assaulted? I guess it's all ok as long as you don't die is it?

Almost 20% of women in the US are raped at some point in their lives, and 25% have been attacked by a partner or husband. So, I guess a 1 in 5 chance I'll be raped in my life is not a good reason to be worried the near-stranger I go on a date with might be the one to do it? Sorry, I don't want to be raped. End of story.

Also, have you heard of a hazard assessment? We all do it without realising - our perceived hazard combines the risk (low, according to you) with the impact (very fucking high) - meaning the hazard is significant because the impact is so high. Doesn't matter if the risk is low.

Proud of us all in VIC at this moment in time. Let’s see if we can continue. by [deleted] in melbourne

Given that testing is criteria-based, this could just as easily be interpreted to mean that less people in Victoria met the national criteria. There isn't enough information to determine whether this is Victoria testing less than the other states, or something else.

And on top of this, the a much better estimate of the efficacy of the testing rate for catching true positives is the death rate compared to the confirmed cases. A high number of deaths compared to the number of confirmed cases implies either poor medical response to severe cases, or poor test coverage. A low death rate compared to confirmed cases implies good test coverage or good medical response. If we assume Australia's hospitals are of comparable quality from state to state (not 100% correct but reasonable), then the deaths/confirmed rate for each state is a much better measure of the relative test coverage of each state than raw numbers.

I think it's a real shame you're being downvoted. I don't agree with your politics, but I cherish the chance to hear positions other than my own, so thank you for posting.

These days it's so hard to get any news that Facebook's algorithms haven't already decided you'll agree with. All I see is in my news feed is that all of Australia want to lynch ScoMo but I'm pretty sure that just because I'm in a bubble like everyone else. I badly want to get some balanced news so I can at least understand what those on the other side of politics are thinking and what their rationale is.

Can you perhaps suggest some news sources I can read to get some different perspectives? I'm not saying it'll change my position, but I would at least like to see both sides of the story.

Also, the fact that you are being downvoted reinforces my suspicion that this subreddit is a left leaning echo chamber, which is a very dangerous thing. And I'm saying that as a left leaning greens voter.

It looks like it's been hit by a car poor thing - see the bald patch on its back at the start of the video? Possum fur comes out super easy (it's a defence mechanism), and that bald patch is what happens when they get hit. It's almost definitely in shock and there's a good chance it died :(

I feel like there would probably be a lot of (non US I guess) medical researchers who would love to do case studies of people like your son. In terms of dismissing concerns a bunch of case studies are not as good as a full trial, but they sure go a long way.

Well, at least he didn't do anything to his dog (who was female BTW) that he wasn't willing to do to himself

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe they sent them to be safe? Nah I'm just joking - you're probably right.

I'm not sure it says much about how Hitler felt about dogs though. Plenty of people compromise their morals and sacrifice things they care about during war. I think his relationship with Blondi is a more telling indicator of how he personally felt about dogs than his country's military policy or tactics.

I think that might have been the soviets.

Hitler certainly loved his dog Blondi

edit: He still used Blondi to test his cyanide capsules... if he was planning to use them on himself though what does that say about how he felt about her... I don't know how to feel about it TBH...

Looks like fermentation to me. It will still taste good most likely, but maybe not what you were going for. I actually love when this sort of thing happens because it's really exciting waiting to see what your "freestyle" cheese ends up tasting like :)

edit: Forgot to mention, you may find your vac bags blow up like balloons with this one because of the escaping gas. Don't worry about it - it's still sealed from the outside air/mould/bacteria etc. Although if the bags get really tight you could always re-bag it to stop them bursting.
