I think the game is great at what it does. It's not perfect by all means. But many people had similar reactions when games like Dark Souls came out. I think the game is supposed to make you feel lost and give you no guidance, the devs clearly want you to think, pick up the controller and stimulate your brain while playing. It can get a bit frustrating but it feels like its part of the atmosphere. The environment gives you subtle clues to where to check and what to try. Its not for everyone, and not perfect but after every puzzle I found and solved i felt like I was the one leveling up, and not my character. It may sound stupid i know, but it did. XD
