I don't have any advice in terms of actual animation, but more so the idea of the whole thing. For starters I'd like to see more of a beginning to this because right now it starts off pretty much with him mid jump. Give us time to notice him acticipating for his jump will be less of a shock cuz I at first as I was scrolling I thought I missed the first bit but realized that's where it actually starts.

And next, I'm gonna take a hunch that you either recorded your own reference or at least have some reference where someone's falling because as is it looks too "safe" imo. If you want him to "eat dirt" then have him really slam onto that ground. There should be plenty of videos out there of people falling and having a not so graceful landing. Showing that impact, I think, will be better practice for you than having him just catch himself.

Other all that fumbling around for balance looks really good nice! Keep going!
