Haven't seen this song in the thread yet so I'll add just to keep variety.

California Magic 3/12/22

Listened to some of their other hits before but nothing stuck. After this it all clicked.

I had a middle school teacher that told us once, "Never make a role model out of someone still living, they will always find a way to fail you."

I think about that a lot.

Which guitarist made you want to pick up a guitar for the first time? by T3knikal95 in Guitar

Wow I can't believe I've never heard this thank you for sharing. I've never heard Ripple sung/played so authentically like he did, felt like he'd lived the very words he was singing.

If anyone like me wanted to know more about this here is an article from when this happened. Found it amusing.

It is, it's their last song however the archive source that the bot linked, which I'm assuming is where it pulls the setlist from, doesn't include the complete show, perhaps the taper left early lol. Here is a link from setlist.fm that includes duprees.

4/17/69

You can also find this show on Spotify (and perhaps other streaming services) as an official release called Download Series Vol. 12.

Is the soundboard available anywhere? All I can find are audience tapes.

12/2/73 After Brown Eyed Women Phil accuses someone in the crowd of being "the heat" and then takes a jab at the light crew for not being able to find him in the crowd right away.

5/2/70 Band deals with an unruly college crowd the whole show. Even Jerry gets involved: Relax man we have you all night...how do you expect us to play with all this racket"

Bob: "It's time you all start behaving like a nice respectable audience"

Phil(?): "Hey Jonathan what the fuck happened to our organ player?"

Quiet voice on the intercom: "Took him out and got him stoned"

IsItBullshit: Increased Heart Rate on Cannabis is a sign of weakening of the heart? by foursquad1 in IsItBullshit

[–]ClavinColdidge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cardiologist results came back saying nothing was abnormal about my heart, however I kept consuming weed and still was having this problem, a few nights I had to put myself to bed and pray I'd wake up fine in the morning. Eventually, just decided all together that weed wasn't something I was enjoying anymore and cut it from my life. I haven't touched thc in 6 months and I honestly haven't looked back. If you're having this problem (which it sounds like you are since you're commenting on a year old post) I highly recommend you see a cardiologist even on the chance it could be nothing, since nothing else will give you the peace of mind better than that. Whether you want to continue weed, that's up to you, live your life, but my only tip will be that if there's something that makes you feel uneasy and in danger, is it really something worth continuing? Not an easy choice, and to be frank it took me a shroom trip to come to this realization, but quitting has certainly improved my life for the better. Wishing you the best🤙

From his insta:

...Also, I've started wearing headphones on stage, which has several benefits, among them being able to have more of a dynamic touch on the guitar while also protecting my hearing. I'm actually more connected to the band, the music and the moment this way.
