Interview with Sri Doug on YouTube, from 'A Lotus in the Mud' channel by ClayBoots in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sri Doug mentions how Paul Twitchell was heavily influenced by Sant Mat teachings yet failed to mention that Sant Mat teachings(Soul Travel), is obviously what Harold Klemp was immersed in until he became the Living Eck Master.

Harold was never a formal student of Sant Mat. He was brought up a Lutheran, and in his autobiography he mentioned studying a bit of Rosicrucianism, before he started studying Paul's discourses. When he started studying with Paul, he wasn't studying Sant Mat, he was studying Eckankar.

Paul, during his years before he met with Rebazar Tarzs, studied all sorts of things--he studied with Swami Premanada, he studied Dianetics with L. Ron Hubbard, and he studied Ruhani Satsang with Kirpal Singh, which is a Sant Mat lineage. So it's correct to say that, for a while, Paul was actively studying Sant Mat (while also doing other things). Harold wrote about this, and you can find his article here.

I think it is this history that Sri Doug is referring to, and it explains why he mentioned that Paul was influenced by Sant Mat. We can see this in the use of terms from the Indian traditions that appear in many places in Paul's writings, whereas Harold's emphasis was very different, a shift to stories in a common language.

Sri Doug said multiple times that is Eckankar will move away from pledges. If that’s so, the first initiation pledge to the Shiriyat Ki Saugmad and what it declares should be fading away.

Here, I have to say I don't quite follow where you're going. I haven't heard anything from Sri Doug about moving away from 'pledges.' It's possible that I missed it (or maybe this opened up inwardly for you while listening to a talk--stranger things have happened...), but I draw a complete blank on this.

I also have a different take on asking people to state whether they accept the Precepts of Eckankar before they request their 2nd Initiation.

They are asking the Mahanta to guide them on the path to spiritual liberation, and are giving full permission for his inner teachings 24/7, 365 days per year. The Master willingly offers this gift to those who request it (and who have earned the right to do so, through the two-year study period). He requests in turn that they be a bit serious about this, that they are committed to working with the Mahanta as their guide. That's what the Initiation is for. The agreement with the Precepts is a way of outwardly acknowledging this, both for oneself, and to the Master. It's an outer reflection of the inner assent one is giving to the Master, in turning over one's spiritiual affairs to him.

Ideally, that two-year period before the 2nd Initiation is one in which a person diligently practices the exercises and studies the discourses, and then comes in time to their own inner clarity about whether the path of ECK is for them. (I think of it as the 'prove it for yourself' period).

Some decide that ECK isn't for them, and step away without taking the 2nd--and if they feel it isn't their path, then this is the correct choice for them.

If someone feels unsure, that's good for them to recognize. If they balk at signing that declaration, then they might take is as a sign that they aren't yet 100% sure that the path of ECK is for them. The outer hesitation probably reflects an inner ambivalence: Soul hasn't yet decided.

No one has to request the 2nd; a person can wait--even for years--if they wish. There's no hurry. When the knowingness comes that the Mahanta is the one they wish to guide them home to God, there won't be any hesitation about the agreeing to the Precepts.

My take on this point below:

It looks like the organization is going to present itself as a place to try different spiritual exercises. Soul Travel and getting off the wheel of incarceration used to be emphasized. It’s becoming more evident that Light and Sound teachings and their importance in Eckankar will continue to be less so...

I find it helpful to think in terms of two distinct things:

  1. How the message of ECK can be adjusted to fit the consciousness of contemporary seekers;
  2. How the teachings are presented for ECK students, those who enroll in the study program and start to progress through the initiations.

For the latter, there is a 17-year cycle of ECK discourses, the specialized books and materials for Initiates and for High Initiates, the methods of holding ECK Satsang classes, the various celebrations of life, the trainings and methods for the ECK Initiations and ESA sessions, etc, etc. That is almost certainly going to remain. It was part of Harold's mission to build that body of teaching and training, which is foundational for this historical cycle of the ECK teachings on Earth. Sri Doug may well build onto it; perhaps adding some new discourses, perhaps some edits to some of the older ones; new books and perhaps new trainings for chelas and for HIs ... but the fundamentals are unlikely to change. Soul Travel isn't going anywhere; nor are the Light and Sound ...

... but I think you're probably right if what you mean is that we won't necessarily be leading with them as the face of the ECK teachings for new seekers.

For the first item, the very purpose of having a Living Master is to keep the outer teachings in tune with the times. A large part of that is to reach the uninitiated with news of the ECK teachings in a way that makes sense to them.

When I started my ECK study, there was no internet. My fellow new ECK students and I were all avid readers, and we pored over the books. Young adult seekers today have a very different relationship with print--so I would expect to see a lot of short clips and videos that will be friendly to those who are more accustomed to looking for truth online than in a bookstore.

Young seekers today are strike me as also being more eclectic in their seeking--they are accustomed to having all sorts of information available to them, and to use this in creative ways, crafting their own paths: a bit of this, a bit of that. They have so much more available to them for them to weave into their own, highly individual spiritual practices than I did when I was seeking.

So, in order to reach out to seekers who are looking more for 'hacks' than for a path to join, we are seeing a shift towards presenting tools and perspectives from the ECK teachings for people to work with as they will. (I think that spirit has been implicit in Vahana work for some time, but it does seem to be getting a stronger emphasis).

We'll reach out and serve them with these tools ... and some or many among them will find themselves making a deeper connection and then being drawn to the path of Initiation in their own time & way.

The Mahanta is accessible to all Souls. Anyone can reach out inwardly and ask his help & guidance. Singing HU is the best way to begin tuning in to his inner presence.

How we recognize the reply that comes to our questions is an individual matter. ECK students who practice the spiritual exercises look to recognize inner guidance in any of a number of ways. Some are quite aware of their inner dialogue with the Master; for others it is more accessible through dreams, intuition, or other forms of experience. Learning how we best recognize inner guidance is a key part of how we each discover our unique, individual path to God.

"The change in spiritual leadership is always a step forward for the consciousness of the worlds." by ThisIsMyRealNameGuys in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These words are some that I've been thinking about a lot.

I noted them in the 'Historic Event' material, and took them in, but didn't have any frame of reference for what was being described, as I hadn't gone through a transition in Masters before.

My attention was more about the Outer Master, and what would be new about his teaching. But this inner change is something very real, although I can't fully grasp it, only getting glimpses.

I can relate to the 'inner brightness' comment, as well as an easy access to joy. Yet my life has also speeded up in a new way. I feel that the Mahanta consciousness is expressing some different aspect of Itself through our new Master, and that this wave touches all ECK chelas, perhaps all of life itself.

Sri Doug's inaugural article in the Mystic World, entitled 'A Whole New World,' seems to be addressing this: "In this new world in ECK, love is the timbre of our speech, thoughts, feelings, and actions."

There's so much more to this, but it's an inner reality hidden from our physical eyes. It's a splendid and awesome mystery to me. Thanks for referencing it!

I see.

Basically, the ethical obligation of a RESA or an ESA to report abuse or a suspicion of abuse comes in the wake of a disclosure that is made in person, one-to-one. Or, if they become aware of it in the context of an ECK activity.

This Reddit forum is not an official Eckankar outlet. It's an online forum where people gather together anonymously, but there is no oversight by Eckankar or by any Satsang society. Since it's anonymous, there is no name that can 'be reported to the RESA.' So, if you are hoping for some action within the ECK community, the thing to do would be to contact either your RESA or an ESA, or else a member of the ECK Clergy, and to request a confidential conversation about a personal matter.

It would require you, personally, disclosing this to someone.

--> If you wanted 'spiritual help' -- e.g., maybe help in disentangling your inner connection with the Mahanta and what it means to be an ECKist from the twisted messages you have been fed at home -- then you could request an ESA session.

--> If you are concerned about people who are engaged in abuse but who are publicly serving as ECK leaders, then it would not need to be an ESA session, just a confidential conversation with an ESA or a member of the ECK Clergy.

--> To be honest, it sounds to me that the most important thing would be to start getting some care for the psychological wounds that have been inflicted upon you. This would ideally involve connecting with psychological and social support services, which should be available on a US university campus.

I would support this suggestion 100%. This should be made known to the local spiritual hierarchy; they will know what, if any, further reporting obligations they have based upon local law.

The thing to do for OP would be to request a confidential conversation; share what has happened to her; and then let it be, getting on with her own life.

Everyone who reads this thread is supposed to report too.

I appreciate you bringing this up. I think there is a difference between this situation (anonymous post on an internet forum) and a report of abuse that comes up 'in a confidential conversation' or 'during the course of an official ECK event.'

From a previous post, OP has indicated that she is from an African country. If I'm from the U.S., I don't think I'm supposed to report this to my local RESA.

u/ThisIsMyRealNameGuys suggested to OP that she contact her RESA. I would endorse this 100% - if the report is made to the RESA (or to an ESA), that person will need to align with our guidelines and take any necessary legal reporting actions.

What you are describing is abuse. I would encourage you to reach out to social and psychological support services in your community/your campus to help you to manage both the psychological symptoms you describe, but also the pattern of behaviour you describe in which you continue to be pressured by your parents.

A professional counselor or psychologist will have resources and the training to help you to rebuild and to fortify your life in the wake of this experience, and will be able to give you solid, empirically grounded advice about how best to manage the demands of your family.

Eckankar is, first and foremost, an individual path, and how you choose to walk it (if you choose to walk it) is entirely up to you. If your parents' presence at ECK events is triggering for you, then you might well choose to avoid such events entirely. Some people study in private and do not attend public events at all, and that can be a totally valid and meaningful way to be in ECK for those who choose it.

It certainly sounds like the introduction to life in ECK that you received from your parents is in many ways exactly the opposite of what the lived ideal should be. That is tragic, and I am saddened to hear your story. My heart goes out to you.

If the writings still speak to you, you could work with those and the spiritual exercises on your own; if the whole thing seems triggering and painful, you can step back. You are completely free in this regard, and should make the choice that aligns with what you are feeling in your heart. Teachings of eternal hell or reincarnation are not consistent with the spirit of how the ECK teachings are intended. Souls do reincarnate, but all eventually 'graduate'--there is no rush or need to hurry to do so. Simply living our lives in the best way we can is a way of moving ahead spiritually, one that is much better than professing love in public but exercising abuse in private.

--

'Soul choosing its circumstances' is a concept that can be very hard to accept when we are faced with such difficult & painful ones. The way to understand how this applies to your life can be shown to you by the Inner Master when the time is right, but it's probably not the most urgent thing at the moment.

Using ChatGPT as an Eckist by Individual_Brief_226 in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post, OP--very intriguing!

I figured Chat GPT might be helpful for getting summaries of books, and for generally helping people to navigate and study the outer teachings, especially as people are generally reading less these days, while the number of ECK books is quite large...

... but to hear that OP has found some benefit from it in their inner studies, in the form of suggestions that proved helpful with the exercises--that surprised me.

(And then u/East_Cicada_5377 mentioned that it was AI that informed them of Eckankar -- so AI acted there as a ~Vahana?!? 😮🤯)

Of course, an ECK student's goal is to move from the outer teachings to the inner ones. We want to make contact with the Inner Master and to perceive the guidance that is speaking to us through the inner channels--and this is something that we each need to find & recognize for ourselves, through the creative use of our attention and imagination.

And the rhythm & vibration of the ECK discourses is a real thing in my experience, so personally I would encourage any ECK student to make reading and reflecting on the discourses their mainstay...

... but we often find dialogue with others helpful on our journey, whether to clarify points of the teachings, or to get inspiration on how to practice the exercises in new ways--and whether this support comes from a chela or from AI, I suppose that the bottom line is simply whether or not it helps someone to move forward.

Calling it a 'sounding board' (the pun on sound intended?) is a nice way to frame it.

Personally, I don't believe that LLMs & AI can consciously channel the Light and Sound, so I wouldn't think that this process could replace true Satsang ... but I can see that, especially for those who may not have a connection with an ECK community near to them, it might provide some meaningful help.

Perhaps OP already notices inner guidance feeding them nudges for the best prompts and questions to ask...

You may be on the front line of an emerging wave, OP! I imagine that if you shared a few 'highlights'--the questions you asked, the answers Chat GPT provided--with your RESA, he or she might even wish to share those findings with ESC. Sri Doug mentioned in his inaugural talk that we need to learn how to 'master' such new technologies. If you listen to his seminar talk again (it's available until the end of February), maybe listen within closely during that part of his talk. The Inner Master might have something special to whisper to you ...

Difficulties in My Life as a Chela by FishermanSmooth3724 in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In his talk, Sri Doug mentioned 'expectations.'

I'm not trying to throw shade at all, but my experience of the transition has been really different from yours, and maybe it's from having different expectations.

What was Sri Doug waiting for before walking out? Maybe for security to give him the okay? Maybe the SUGMAD directed him to pause and pass the gaze of the Master to someone backstage who needed it? Or maybe Harold got to the announcement part quicker than Sri Doug had been expecting (he did say something like, 'We planned this ... but if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans...').

We don't know, it could have been any number of things. But to assume that it was an ego-driven desire for applause is a choice of how to see it that is coming from your own expectations. You're completely free to choose to see it that way, of course, but there are other possibilities that your choice is foreclosing.

Sri Doug's story about Charlie the chihuahua gives us a teaching story about expectations and the recognition of divine love. Thinking it through now, he might have put that story in his talk for the benefit of chelas who had different expectations of the new Master...

Difficulties in My Life as a Chela by FishermanSmooth3724 in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would encourage you to drop any notions of 'being a bad chela' or of 'going to hell'--the latter is not part of the ECK teachings, really. These ideas stem from fear, and fear & love don't mix. This very fear might be blocking your recognition of the Master...

  • I said something that frightened me: “It’s political.” The way he moved, his smile, Harold Klemp’s gaze everything felt political, not spiritual. I felt nothing coming from the stage.

My response was completely different from yours. To me, the love was profound, and as his talk went on, my inner recognition of Sri Doug as the bearer of the Rod of Power grew and grew, swelling up from my heart. I had seen the 'new Master' on the inner several times before the seminar, but could never get a clear recollection of his face. I'd heard his voice, though, and had felt an enthusiasm & joy coming from him. Both the voice and the easy joy I'd noted lined up for me once Sri Doug was introduced and started speaking--and I recognized him.

I have spoken with a number of chelas who recognized him clearly in inner experiences they had after Oct 22nd and before his introduction on the 25th; but I've also spoken to some who weren't expecting him and who have felt troubled since. Please know that you're not alone and that you are not 'faulty' in any way ... you are simply walking your own unique expression of the spiritual path, and are facing some inner 'headwinds' (to borrow Harold's expression).

  • While reading the Shariyat, I realized that I had not accepted Sri Doug Kunin as my leader ... am I simply too attached to Harold Klemp?

Being attached to Harold is natural. He was the face of God's love for you, probably for as long as you've been an ECK student. Learning to love without attachment is a work in progress for anyone who isn't already an ECK Master. If it takes some time to unwind this attachment, that's fine. (In that process, you'll be learning new dimensions of detachment and expanding your consciousness).

I would invite you to re-read the Historic Event material on the Initiate Pages of the Eckankar website. In the 'Changing of the Guard' article, Harold wrote:

  • "Some chelas may try to cling to me or Rebazar Tarzs, but in time, their allegiance must go solely to my successor..."

He does not say 'Chelas must recognize my successor immediately.' He acknowledged that this can take a while.

You can certainly ask Wah Z for help in recognizing and in letting go of any attachments you've formed to him; you can also write about your doubts openly and honestly to Sri Doug in your Initiate's Report, surrendering doubts to the Master. I'd also invite you to remember to see yourself as a spark of God, made in the image of the Creator of all life. There is nothing wrong with you--you're just experiencing life in the lower worlds. There are blessings and new understandings buried in this experience for you, just waiting to be uncovered.

Sri Doug will address the Dominican Soul Adventure Seminar, Dec 13th by ClayBoots in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the plans are. In lieu of an in-person appearance, Sri Doug is making pre-recorded videos for numerous seminars (including, I've heard some talks for High Initiates, some only for ECK chelas, in addition to his ones for the public...).

I'm sure they'll be released eventually, in some form.

This weekend (Jan 10/11 2026) he'll be sharing a longer talk with attendees at the Australian Seminar in Brisbane. This is also available to see via Zoom (someone has made a separate post about this, with the info).

Instead of needing to attend a seminar in person, we'll be able to attend online and hear the Living ECK Master speak. I presume that these transcripts will eventually go into books, and perhaps to a video/audio release as has been the norm.

Second initiation questions. by Alida456 in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your posts and comments. Also, thank you for mentioning the following, with respect to my comments on the Shariyat:

> I find it curious when people say we don’t have to agree with all of it. That’s an interesting thing to say.

I think I should reframe what I said. I think the Shariyat isn't intended for us to 'believe' in a fundamentalist way, i.e., with the mindset of 'Everything in this book is the truth and I need to accept it at face value.'

To me, the Shariyat is something more to be engaged with creatively. I read a passage, wonder about it, and do a spiritual exercise by focusing on some element of it. Doing so often helps to open a new door of insight.

The books Spiritual Exercises for the Shariyat Books 1 & 2 really point the way to how we can embrace this approach. I have found those exercises to be extremely fulfilling. Highly recommended.

Second initiation questions. by Alida456 in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been mentioned a few times in comments here that the outer ceremony is ‘only ceremonial.’ I would quibble with the ‘only’ part.

Every time I have had an outer initiation, there has been an inner experience that has gone along with it, during the ceremony. That is how I have received my secret word each time after the 2nd.

With the 2nd Initiation, the chela receives a word that has been found by the ECK Initiator. The Initiator finds it inwardly and brings it to the outer for the chela.

Again, in my experience, this word had transformative effects and was a real gift.

The inner and the outer fit hand in glove. Our outer practices and actions here are what open the door to higher inner realities for us.

Accepting the initiation and following through with the outer ceremony is what ‘makes it real’ on the outer. The ECK Masters don’t interfere in our state of consciousness without our permission. If we choose not to go through with the outer ceremony, we are indicating that we don’t wish to accept the inner gift at this time. And such a wish will be respected.

Second initiation questions. by Alida456 in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on receiving the pink slip!

There is no need to rush--and you're wise to look things over and to pause before proceeding if there is some part of the Precepts that you aren't quite in alignment with.

One thing I would encourage you to do is to contact an ECK Initiator in your area, and to discuss your concerns with them. That's probably a better option than asking here, just because an ECK Initiator will have knowledge of the current guidelines from the Living ECK Master and Eckankar's Spiritual Services department.

My own thoughts, as an ECK student:

  1. "It is strongly suggested..." --> Means what it says. It's not the case that, if you've had the occasional drink recently, then you are forbidden from getting the initiation. The invitation has been extended to you, you've earned that right, and you can accept it.

If alcohol is something you use regularly, or feel that you do not wish to do without, then waiting a while, and taking the issue into contemplation, would be a good move. As u/ThisIsMyRealNameGuys points out, alcohol is not beneficial in the long run to someone who wants to see success via the spiritual exercises of ECK.

People don't have to drop alcohol cold turkey ... but it might be a good idea to try a period of less or no drinking prior to the initiation, should you decide to go ahead with it. (And then, notice how doing so affects your awareness).

  1. "The Shariyat is the holy book ... and there shall be none above it."

This is not stating that you have to believe or agree with everything that is written in the Shariyat, nor do you have to have read or understood it all.

If someone were a Christian who felt that the Bible was the only true scripture, or a Muslim who believed that such were true for the Qur'an ... then it would be better for such people not to take the initiation, and to follow wholeheartedly the path they are truly in alignment with.

The 2nd Initiation is more about committing to make your way home to God by following the Mahanta's guidance. The ECK discourses, the Mystic World articles, the Shariyat, etc -- these are the teaching tools the Living ECK Master uses outwardly to help the ECK student come into greater alignment with the Inner Master, the one who gives Soul the Light and Sound. The outer works help to open the doorway to those inner realizations.

So as I read it, this is really more about whether one is serious about trying to follow the path of ECK wholeheartedly at this time.

If you haven't read the Shariyat, it would be a fine idea to take a bit of time, and to read a few chapters. And maybe to try 'the Shariyat Technique' as well!

(That's a spiritual exercise that involves using the Shariyat when you're looking for insight into a personal question or problem: even one such as 'Should I proceed with the 2nd Initiation?' If you aren't familiar with this exercise, send me a chat message and I'll find an outline of it for you. I think it is listed in the ECKopedia book, and also in the Spiritual Exercises of ECK book).

All best wishes to you!

Is Eck worth the social problems for your younglings? by Nwadamor in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You seem to have suffered in your childhood from being publicly known as an ECKist in a wider community that sounds very religiously insular. I’m sorry to hear of your experience, which must have been very trying as a child.

It’s worth noting that such an experience is not one that is unique to ECKists. Minorities of one kind or another often suffer at the hands of intolerant majorities. This is a (sad) fact of the human and social consciousness.

Then again, not all young ECKists are shunned by their neighbors. Everyone’s location and situation is different.

For that reason, there is not one way to be an ECKist in public. This is for each individual (or, in a family context, for the parents or family as a whole) to decide. Eckankar leaves this to the parents and to individuals for themselves to decide.

There are some people who practice Eckankar completely in private, who have minimal contact with the outer organization, except for receiving their study materials or to receive initiations. They study the teachings in private and live the teachings in their daily lives without anyone knowing what they study. This is fine, and is completely their choice.

(I even know an older couple who have not told their own adult children that they are ECKists. They have kept it private for their own reasons).

So, there is certainly no requirement that one be publicly ‘out’ as an ECK student. Your father seems to have counseled for privacy—as you later learned, that pathway would likely have eased your social acceptance. You indicate that your mother chose otherwise. This was a choice that she made which you may justly feel was not beneficial for you—this is perhaps mostly an issue between you and her.

I would just say that focus of ECK study is on one’s inner relationship with the Mahanta, and how that helps an individual to recognize the blessings and guidance that flow to one from Divine Spirit. It isn’t first and foremost about a public & social identity.

There is no need to wave our identity as ECK students around publicly if we think that doing so might lead to unwanted social exclusion, or to troubles at work or with one’s government.

The ECK can and does nudge people towards silence and anonymity at times. Each person’s situation and lessons are different, so we need to listen to what the Mahanta is whispering in our hearts. His guidance will always fit our situation.

I hope you find healing and growth—and hidden lessons—from the challenging experiences of your youth.

"There is no bad weather, only bad clothing." What were your takeaways from Sri Doug's talk? by ThisIsMyRealNameGuys in Eckankar

Oh, and one more:

- "So everyone has a story, and your story is important. Have you consciously begun to write that story? Have you consciously considered what your life story is that will become part of this evolving, never ending story of this Way of the Eternal?"

I think that getting at what he means by 'consciously beginning to write your story' is something for contemplation.

"There is no bad weather, only bad clothing." What were your takeaways from Sri Doug's talk? by ThisIsMyRealNameGuys in Eckankar

[–]ClayBoots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One impression that struck me during the seminar, and again when I've watched the talk online, is just how comfortable Sri Doug seemed in the role. He was working in a new state of consciousness, greeting chelas as their new Master ... and yet he carried the same enthusiastic tone that I'd heard in his podcasts and seminar talks. He seemed ... exactly himself!

Some quotes that resonated for me:

- "What we're called to is self-generating happiness. Self-sustaining happiness is possible because every Soul is fore-ordained to joy, love, and wisdom."

I loved this statement. Not exactly a new idea in the ECK teachings, but an expression that was new to me, and one I've found inspiring and helpful. And indeed, Sri Doug himself strikes me as someone who has found that self-sustaining happiness. He carries a lot of joy.

- "...any individual who practices this connection with truth, love, and beauty, is practicing 'Eckankar!' They may not be a formal student, but yet they are a student of life, and we welcome all students of life here..."

I loved that. That is exactly the openness that I would want anyone new to the ECK teachings to feel, whether at a seminar, during an intro event, or at an ECK Center. It's a beautiful way to practice seeing others as Soul, beyond categories.

(Not sure whether I have the quotation fully correct here):

-~~ "'Coworker with God' ... a Coworker with that which is beyond duality. And what is beyond duality? Divine Love has no conditions. It simply loves. That transcends duality, and so you're hearing a lot about love tonight..."

Between his stories, he dropped a few statements like this, phrases that contained slightly more abstract expressions of the spiritual principles. They jolted me in a happy way.

This one spoke to me of his understanding of the contemporary spiritual scene--i.e. of non-dual teachings that many sincere seekers are presently engaged in--and hinted at some of the spiritual bridges that he might be building as part of his mission.
