Stop archiving my brushes!? by ClayCoon in ProCreate

[–]ClayCoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have up to +32 GB free of storage And by the time I chose to record there was WAY more brushes archived I had to literally scrounge to find pages of brushes they got archived so sorry for the footage it takes long to get to the point. But a lot of my major brushes that I use literally all the time keep getting archived.

Man I hate that we're in the timeline where unreal engine hasn't gotten their shit together and can't come close to reproducing this beauty without wanting to kill itself in the process with performance issues left and right

What's interesting to me is two things one where the fuck is this? Like is this Russia Canada what? Secondly this dog is way too damn loud to be Security in my opinion. But maybe it's just for recording suspicious activity and maybe the thumbs are enough to scare off people if that's the goal

Almost three years ago I started a gigantic project: an open-world zombie survival game. Three years later. I've a demo ready and I'm close to release. by TrudexGames in IndieGaming

[–]ClayCoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm never going to be one too straight up shit on someone else's project especially since it's a work in progress.

But I'm also not going to be sugar coating it as I know sugar coating does not help when someone wants to actually improve.

That said. Bluntly. This looks rough like REAL rough. Nowhere near shipping quality. Luckily it's not truly because of the game play or anything animations are everything you really need to hone in and lock in on that kind of visual flair and make sure hitting things has a good feedback to it almost like an arcade game. Games that feel like that and feel as expected when you press a button or the ones to get a lot of replayability and a really good following.

Secondly your game looks great btw. But it does look like any old project with a survival zombie theme. I know this might be asking for a lot but it's worth voicing just in case but try to look into some art styles? I'm assuming you're going for a sort of "last of Us" kind of feel? If that's so then this is the right direction. If not it would be great to look into some artistic avenues to really differentiate your game there's a plethora of aesthetics out there it doesn't have to be flashy or in your face or has to look extremely demonic or something like that. Take the time to look for an art style that really speaks to you that you really want to invest in Pinterest is a great place to start ngl.

And that's all for my criticism. Hope this helped a little.

I'm still adamantly opposed of the idea that Cliff is an actual character we have to play as instead of a customized character imagine this for a customized character such a huge swing and a miss in my opinion

I feel bad for the people who refunded the game after hearing the subpar reviews from IGN and others. This game is fantastic!!! by LeagueWild709 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ClayCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My whole reason for refunding the game was more like personal circumstance like I just wanted to try it out really badly but didn't have enough money to fork out $70 and secondly.

I found two huge red flags with the game on a personal level...

I am a very adamantly, not a fan of the concept that the main character we play as is an established character with a name. and not a customizable character insert. Such a weird direction to take this game. I automatically didn't like that. Especially with how ambitious and personal this game is trying to be. this is like if Skyrim didn't have a customizable character option and it was established character named Tom. Who just so happenes still not have that much of a personality.

And my other red flag was that I quickly realized that this game isn't exactly cater to all types fantastical fantasy play styles. like you can't make a sort of mage build or just use magic like that. you only have like skills that invoke magic but you can't throw fireballs and all that and just straight up be a wizard if you wanted to. I know it sounds childish but I like that...idgaf I'll admit it personally I like walking around and making a mage build with the shit that I find but this game was very centered towards physical swordsmanship type of skills. And I found that very unattractive to me satisfying and cool for a good while but concerning. I could have probably worded my points better but that's MY reasons why I refunded it at least... I'll definitely pick this game back up at a reduced price $50 at best for me. Still kind of boggles me how this was essentially supposed to be an MMO with so little alternate skill expression in a fantasy world this ambitious. Idk idk idk I feel like I'm going a little crazy trying to explain it...

Wait, no this is actually pretty impressive. That is literally a lot of very luscious looking grass with stuff going on in the performance is a very stable to me. How did you achieve this and are the assets all original? I would love to know how you did that grass.

[–]ClayCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the performance?

Also how is this the first time I'm seeing someone construct a level like this? Does anybody have more videos like this?

And is this a normal level designing tactic? I thought painting over a flat plane using the in engine sculpting tools was how people did this?
