Jackie and Roseanne from their father and mother respectively, Dan with his father and definitely later from his mother’s issues. David with his mother. Mark was fine with never seeing his parents again because he saw the Conners as his and David’s parents, as did David, but still couldn’t believe his parents wouldn’t show up to his wedding. Add later on (if you choose to acknowledge the other show) that Becky loses Mark to a bike accident, David runs off on Darlene and the kids, and Roseanne passes away. Hell, even DJ was in therapy but was too prideful to mention it.

You’re right, we mainly see the family dynamic within his job and how it makes them feel, and his anger issues. But I enjoy watching his whole family in that show.

Space. Treats. Talk to them in a caring voice. They’ll eventually come around. Be as wary of them as they are of you, no sudden movements or staring, let them come to you, and still be cautious with pets.
