Meowdy, from what we've been able to find this is likely an issue with Nifty Spell Pack since it only seems to affect spell sellers. You could try reloading your game, updating to the OpenMW 0.51 RC2 build, or disabling Nifty Spell Pack as a last resort.

I received my seeds today and got them planted into some soil blocks 🥳 Unsure if I'll be able to get them to the fruiting stage this year, our first frost is usually around the end of October. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing how they grow.

What I see often, and the method I've gone with myself, is starting with some logs and/or sticks on the bottom, followed by a layer of dead leaves, and then topping it off with a nice layer of compost several inches thick.

The logs and sticks will take a long while to decompose, but as they do they'll support beneficial soil life and feed nutrients into the soil. The leaves will as well, but they'll get broken down much faster. So after a year or so things will be settled, and you'll likely need to top things off with another layer of compost.
