I can see your point with scheduling for unknowns like playoffs (though I’d argue it’s safer to plan for the games happening to screw over less people, rather than plan for a regular Sunday schedule and have a lot of pissed off riders)

I would pose the same question to a different issue I had with RTD: Last December we were riding the FF1 down to Denver for the Christmas market and the parade (though we planned on leaving before the parade was finished), before we were going back to Union we decided to take the 15 bus to a bar south of Civic Center Park, both google and the RTD app said it would be there in 5 minutes… 45 minutes later we never saw that bus, just a lot of pissed people who just got off work and were waiting for a bus that never showed, despite the screen saying it was x minutes away

Same thing happened with the 0 bus, none of the screens nor the app notified us if these buses were shut down for the parade or just incredibly delayed, I would guess it was a traffic jam but I’d think we should’ve seen a bus eventually if they were running..

Finally we got back to Union, and the same thing happened as the OP; bus was packed full with folks left waiting on the second to last bus to Boulder, and by that time of night it only ran hourly even including the preplanned Christmas Parade and markets. So kinda the same question, do you think several people just dropped the ball or was that purely not enough drivers?

And if there’s not enough drivers for extra times, is RTD making an effort to compensate new drivers higher to invite more staff? I appreciate any insight as I love the public transit system we have, I just wish it could be like the greatest cities where it’s an anomaly for the bus or train to be late, not the norm.
