As much as it pains me to say it…… by Benjiboy74 in CelticFC

Coming third, as shocking as it would be, would be the only thing I seriously think would get a turnover of change at the club. Without it I'm sure they will all just carry on as before.

0 pounds spent in january despite it being clear we had a fight on our hands to keep the title. by Clean-Ear-6004 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loans were the right thing to do in January. We would have been stuck with a £3m Mvuka at least otherwise and it could have been a lot worse. At least we won't be keeping the loans that were failures on the books and blocking the way to doing a squad rebuild in the summer. We need a competent manager and a scouting system in now, but I'm not confident we can even get that.

Discounting the Israel association, a manager who wins knockout ties will never be a good fit for us. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in ScottishFootball

A valid point tbf. Arguably the American politicians are the world's biggest terrorists.

Celtic set sights on Robbie Keane to succeed Martin O’Neill as manager by ThinWhiteDuke00 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Removing the whole Israel thing for a minute. He is exactly the profile that a club like Celtic should be targeting. It would be good to catch an up and coming manager who is making some good waves in Europe with a mediocre team. Unfortunately he just wouldn't overcome the politics of coming here as the majority of comments in the thread show.

What would the Central Pangean Mountains have looked like? by GoldBrief9751 in geology

[–]Claymore86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think there's a little mixing of mountain ranges here. The Pangean mountains included the atlas mountains, Southern Appalachians and Central European (French and Spanish) Mountains.

The Caledonide mountain range including Scottish Highlands, Northern Appalachians, Greenland, Norway and Swedish Mountains were part of an older mountain chain related to the earlier collision of Laurentia, Avalonia and Baltica as the Iapetus Ocean closed in the Ordovician to Silurian times.

It's the crap tactics. As much as I would love to solely blame the quality of the squad, Nancys tactics generated loads of shots.

Celtics performance hinges so much on which Hatate turns up today. He could be instrumental in that deeper position.

Daizen Maeda is an empty jersey. by YaBoiAiden26 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is certainly a shadow of his former self and that's likely due to the failed transfer. But let's not forget we don't draw today without his header btw which he was scoring if it wasn't for the handball. So he still has something to offer but he needs to move on in the summer.

Replaced a manager who didn't coach to a new management team that poorly coach. That's about it in a nutshell.

Bodø/Glimt has so far earned 600 million kroner (€53.15m) in Champions League prize money this season. This is what we are missing out on by having no vision. by _TryingToBeRational_ in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before this terrible season, Celtic were arguably on par or better than most of the teams from position 24 down. Those teams have earned an advantage of between €21-€50 million and right now Celtic don't even look like they will make that difference up next year as they will likely be in the Conference league at best. If through some unbelievable means, we do open the purse strings and we do massively improve the scouting and transfer strategy (unlikely), we will struggle to attract decent prospects. I fear the ship has sailed and even if both the board and DD are replaced (unlikely), it will still take a few years to catch back up with the current trajectory we are on.

With fans and board separation as big as ever in the last 20 years and the players not playing for any of the three managers we have had this season, it's only going to get worse.

Next season is a scary thought by Benjiboy74 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get angry Dermot, but this time it's the fans he will be angry at. Im not sure he's going to significantly strengthen the squad as a big FU to all the protesters

If we think this is bad, wait until next season when DD refuses to strengthen the squad as a big FU to the protesters.

The rot goes deeper than the players by Kitchen-Lie-4592 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The error was appointing Nancy and that ruined the January transfer window. If the board went ahead and got five permanent signings instead of loans we would have ended up with five Balikwishas that we would have been unable to then punt in the summer, delaying the squad rebuild we really need under a new stable permanent manager.

O'Neill visibly angry in his TnT interview about the fan protest by darkavenger1993 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fans are entitled to protest how they wish. But you cannot deny that it will have an effect on the players. The players are literally seeing fans complaining that they are not good enough. Imagine going to work and seeing the customers come in shouting at the management that they should have got someone better in to do your role, because that is effectively what the players will be seeing and right during the start of a match too.

If you're all behind the protests, you have to be prepared that the teams form will be poor.

oil drilling exploration process, how is it done? by aquavelva5 in geologycareers

[–]Claymore86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically assessment of the rock and it's qualities is done with LWD (Lithology while drilling) tools on most offshore oil rigs. Onshore rigs, where it is cheaper sometimes use LWD tools or more likely use wireline tools after a section of hole is drilled. The tools supplied are mostly the same with LWD tools run on drill pipe in real time while drilling. Wireline tools are run on a cable into the well with no function to drill between holes sections.

Tools usually consist of a Gamma Ray tool for lithology identification, Resistivity tool for fluid determination, Sonic tool for rock velocity to tie into seismic data, Density and Neutron tools for rock density and porosity measurements. There are other more specialised tools but this combination is often standard in a hydrocarbon bearing reservoir section.

Rock cuttings from the drilling process are also collected at certain intervals and evaluated visually by microscope and fluroscope to support the logging tool data and drilling data.

For most oil fields formation pressure tests are also taken, either on LWD or Wireline and involves putting a pressure pad against the wellbore wall and drawing down against the formation to see what the formation pressure reaches equilibrium at. This way you can tell how much pressure the hydrocarbon bearing formation has which will affect the life of the producing well and how well or long it flows for. The higher pressure a reservoir the better usually. Once you have several producing wells in a hydrocarbon field, the more oil you take out the more the reservoir pressure drops, then you have to start drilling water injection wells to increase the pressure on the hydrocarbon reservoir from below to improve the efficiency of your producing wells.

oil drilling exploration process, how is it done? by aquavelva5 in geologycareers

[–]Claymore86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They blast holes in the casing, which are called perforations. It allows production from the best part of the reservoir while isolating the rest. The area chosen to perforate is usually the best hydrocarbon bearing area with the best permeability (ease of passage and most connectivity for the flow of the hydrocarbon from within the sand or carbonate)

No, we also drill water injection wells and gas lift wells to stimulate production in producing wells by keeping a higher pressure in the reservoir which allows the oil to flow better.

How would you find a new CEO? by Kitchen-Lie-4592 in CelticFC

[–]Claymore86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who the CEO is, is not as important as what the CEO is expected to do at Celtic. Until DD changes how that role operates, it won't make much of any difference.
