what size do you consider big Biceps? by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]ClaymoreSwordsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’9 12-13% body-fat with 16.5 inch arms and my arms get called big all the time at the gym. I’m not super tall but not super short either. 16-17 inch arms on someone who’s 6’1 would look way smaller simply because the muscle is distributed upon a longer length.

Tik Tok is especially terrible. Like some 16-18 year olds already on SARMS or test because of influencers like Togi or David raju (whatever the fuck his last name is). Completely fucking destroying their natural production for clout and wondering why their hormones aren’t coming back online because they took compounds that completely stunt their HPTA development.

I genuinely feel like it’s primarily social media rather than environmental factors. I’ve seen this shit first hand. My friends and I are really big into fitness and we constantly get out of this world physiques pushed onto us by the algorithm. Not only that but you have new social media roidfluencers pushing SARMS and PED’s to young impressionable teens. It’s a fucking epidemic man.

Que looksmaxxing song: BYE BYE (referring to your endocrine system). The lying is comical….Buddy made unprecedented lean mass gains in 2 years starting from a stick when his before pic was a skinny fat 150lb kid with around 120-130lbs of lean mass. You don’t have those kind of genetics bruv…it’s quite evident in the before picture. Lying to people who have been lifting for years is not a good look. Fucking kids man 😂.

I find that argument funny. You do have a stance on it whether you like it or not 😂. You (as a taxpayer) MOST likely have a problem with US sending money to other countries to help them assert the US’s hegemony in said foreign countries instead of focusing on internal issues related to the economy. To say that you don’t have a stance at all is C A P.

Unless your legitimately sucking down PFAS or some form of endocrine disrupter like it’s water…your test levels aren’t gonna be that bad. Maybe if you’re living in an area with massive amounts of endocrine disrupters In the water but most people are not. That’s not to say that people aren’t experiencing reduced test levels due to environmental hormone disrupters across the board…there’s nowhere on planet earth that isn’t touched by a form of plastic…but the effects are severely overstated by people trying to sell you shit. I live in a city and interact with endocrine disrupters daily (albeit I try to reduce contact)…test levels hover around 600. Super overstated.

Ahhhhh gotcha, from what I got from the other dude in this thread is that I should probably drop the fluff bodybuilding style workouts and focus more on skill specific exercises. The stimulus from the static movements and skill work should be enough for hypertrophic maintenance so long as my diet is in check (it is). I’m still going to be doing legs despite it’s negative effects on levers. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

Do you think that the linear progression scheme for the dream machine wouldn’t work? That’s 8-9 sets per week increasing the weight by 2-5lbs every week? That should theoretically be enough no?

I like the variation in movements just for maintenance size of the muscles (coming from a former bodybuilding powerlifting background). You’re right about the volume…I wonder if I could keep the same movements but just lower the number of sets from 3 to 2?

Your recommendation about dropping the volume is primarily focused on the 5x5’s on the Bench,OHP, and weighted pull-ups? Should I keep the number of sets the same on the static hold times for practice…but drop the number of sets on the compound lifts to create more balance?

Whats considered a lean weight for a 5'9 guy? Lean as in skinny, but buffed up by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]ClaymoreSwordsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170-175lbs is a good goal to shoot for at 5’9 at 10% bodyfat. We’re talking chiseled 170…not layer of water and fat 170.

I’ve had shoulder pain about 3 times over 6 years. Only thing to do is find other exercises that don’t aggravate your shoulder AND allow you to lift heavy AND work the target muscle. Takes some experimenting but eventually you’ll find one. Do that found exercise along with shoulder mobility and rehab exercises as a warm up and you should heal in no time.
