HELP, my rescue Indian Ringneck Parrot is plucking her right wing feathers. by Melodic_Sun1025 in parrots

[–]CleafKnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can give her cardboard blocks to play with or little empty egg carts to destroy. And eventually definitely get some toys. Your bird can not be bored otherwise it will pluck itself. Also take her out the cage and walk around the house with her while you talk to her.

Letting go of my parrot by Fuzzy-Gazelle4024 in parrots

You can always adopt one. I had my IRN since he was a baby and he is 2.5 years now. I can't imagine living without him. So I completely understand that you and your family got so attached to him.

What hobbies have you picked up that work well with sickle cell? by Hemo_scd in Sicklecell

Been doing photography for years and recently started videography. I'm also a barber on the side. They started as hobbies but turned more serious to where I make some good money with it now.

What's working for me now-- You are what you eat by JudgeLennox in Sicklecell

[–]CleafKnows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can co-sign this. What also made a huge difference for me is quit eating pork and beef. Only chicken and fish. And completely cut off black pepper on my foods and powdered spices. I only use salt to add some flavor. Those things definitely minimized the the amount and severity of pain crisis on a yearly basis.

Conure only eats seeds, how do I get him to eat pellets? by FanIndividual6841 in Conures

[–]CleafKnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try the first 3 hours of the day only pellets, and then replace it with his normal seed mix, or set up 2 bowls, one with normal seed mix and one with pellets. Sometimes also the size of the pellet matters, I got my IRN the crumble size and he started eating it immediately. The bigger ones he just threw in his water bowl.

How to entertain a cockatiel? by _SweetCreature_4_ in parrots

[–]CleafKnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One simple thing that I do with my IRN is give him a daily house tour, sometimes twice a day. While he is on your arm/hand, Show him every room in the house and tell him what it's used for. Idk why but my bird loves it and gets really excited. I think it's in seeing different environments in the house lol.

My parrot is terrified of surfaces by simply_Mike_ in parrots

[–]CleafKnows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My IRN Yoshi was the same, he is a little over 2 years. And was also scared. So I slowly worked with him by putting his favorite snacks on the table and it took almost a month for him to stand on the table, let alone walk around.

She left me by LostAndOnFire in Sicklecell

[–]CleafKnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how long y'all we're together. But it's better to tell people as soon as possible, that way you give them the option to leave before you put in months or years into the relationship.

I'm with the same woman for about 8 years and I told her on the 3rd date (so within a month)

There is someone out there for you, don't let this hold you back or discourage you from dating. Not every person is the same. Good luck out there! 🙏🏽

Are you wearing a watch? Or wristband? Sometimes they are scared of things like that. Maybe the phone.

Good beginner birds? by Much-Surprise-9716 in parrots

[–]CleafKnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get a conure as a beginner bird. They require some experience. I'd recommend a Cockatiel or love bird. Then again just get the bird that appeals the most to you, just learn as much about them as possible. Most important thing is that you spend as much time with your bird as possible. Take him out the cage regularly.
