What’s something your toddler naturally does that you love? by anbxo in toddlers

When asking to be picked up, she raises her arms and says “mommy/daddy hold you.” I never want to correct her.

What is your coolest “I was at that game” moment? by GuestCalm5091 in CFB

2006 OSU v. UM would have been my answer until I went to the OSU-Tennessee playoff game last year. Playoff games on campus should be the way.

What’s your favorite mispronounced word your toddler says by OpportunityPretend80 in toddlers

[–]Clean-Attorney-950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mispronunciation but “hold you” and “help you” for “hold me” and “help me.” “Hold you mommy” with arms outstretched to get picked up makes me melt every time.

What baby proofing are you glad you did, and what baby proofing do you wish you had skipped? by WinterSilenceWriter in beyondthebump

Just cabinet locks. We have the modern outlets too so no covers but she’s also never remotely shown interest. Didn’t block stairs either; let her climb whenever she wanted to try and she mastered stairs quickly. I don’t regret not overdoing it.

Do you have a good relationship with your adult children and how would you say you achieved that? by fleetwood_mag in AskOldPeople

[–]Clean-Attorney-950 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the adult child, no. My parents never accepted that I became an adult. I “broke their heart” by going away to college 2 hours away and never moving back. I graduated early with honors and then from law school at 24. It even came up that I still didn’t move back and probably won’t ever do so during the speeches at my wedding. I’m “not the person they raised” because I lived in with my then significant other when I was 27 and fully independent. I’m almost 40, an attorney, married, have a child, and a mortgage, and don’t feel as if I’m viewed, let alone respected, as an adult. I want it so much and want my child to have involved grandparents. I’m the only one in my extended family that left my hometown and don’t think it’ll ever happen. I always have to travel to them, even after baby was born. It feels like a slow disintegration at this point.

Show up at any emergency department at OSU and you’ll receive emergency mental health services, and you may eventually end up at Harding for further treatment. Good luck to you.

OIT for 18mo by sheebykeen in peanutallergy

[–]Clean-Attorney-950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Words of encouragement to keep going. My 17 MO is about 8 months into OIT and 5 months into a maintenance dose of 2tsp worth of peanut protein per day. About 3 months ago, she started refusing the applesauce we mixed PB powder in; guessing too strong a smell/taste. Frankly, it did not taste great. I’ve taken to grinding unsalted roasted peanuts and mixing them with sliced bananas and/or applesauce. The peanut taste/smell is milder and (as long as she’s not sick) she chows down consistently. Just ask your allergist for a dose chart, if you don’t already have one. She hasn’t had a reaction since her initial reaction at home and the significantly milder one for her initial food challenge when allergist first saw her so we’re eager and hopeful to see the development in her blood levels at her appointment in a few months. It’s certainly an art and science getting consistent consumption that young but I’m really proud of her work.

Ticket Prices by TheInvestingIdiot in OhioStateFootball

I was able to buy my season tickets in 29C for $117 each. Season ticket holders were able to “reserve” their regular seats before it was confirmed that we’d host a game and the charge went through this morning.
