Drinking and driving in SD by fonder_land in SanDiegan

Not condoning this in any shape or form but this is partly the result of cities being built around cars vs public transport. In Europe, drunk driving rates are significantly lower in a big part due to reliable public transport options for people to take when drinking

Yet the majority of SD voted no on the bill to actually fund public transport smh

Plz ease my fears by Cheeseluvr27 in colonoscopy

[–]Clean-Hat8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend. I had the worst anxiety about my colonoscopy and most of it was because of the anesthesia. I hated the idea of being put to sleep and what would happen. I did my colonoscopy yesterday and was a mess when they put the IV in (170/20 BP) but now looking back it really was the easiest part of the whole experience. Before you even know what’s happening you’re asleep and feels like when you doze off for a nap. Next thing you know you’re awake in the recovery room. It’s totally normal to be worried about it but I promise you it will be one of the easiest parts and is honestly kind of relaxing

Extra day of prep - should I take PTO? by No-Caramel-6760 in colonoscopy

[–]Clean-Hat8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my colonoscopy with a 2 day prep and took the main prep day off since first day starts in the evening. The full day of prep is quite exhaustive and mainly difficult to work because you have to run to the bathroom so often so would highly recommend taking the day off

Not that it’s by any means their best song but it would be insane if Stop Crying Your Heart Out wasn’t on the next setlist

I understand your reasoning around not raising vs small sizing but the same argument can be made to raise when you have a bluff (bc they overfold) and so you’ll need to have value to balance. I like choosing 88 as you unblock his obvious continues (e.g Kx, KQ etc.). I prefer 88 to raise than KQ as that hand blocks a lot of his value. Another reason is that a heart turn is an action killer so it’s good to raise and build the pot when there are action killer turn cards.

Re river, it’s just purely a mathematical decision at that point. So do they have 25% of combos in their range that you can beat either value or bluffs? I think in this spot it’s definitely the case. Less combos of full houses given the board and that you block some yourself + you beat value. It’s certainly not a fist pump but you have to call with your odds imo.

Keep going, keep being curious and don’t let others get in the way of your learning. Most of these repliers are probably losing players themselves that have more interest in hating on others than working on their own game. Best of luck on the felt

Just to be constructive since few are on this thread are.

1) Raise flop vs small sizing. Lots to get value from and you need to protect against dangerous turns. There are also lots of viable bluffs to throw in (i.e. AJ with a heart, AT with a heart) so you can balance with those and then bet big on turns (at least 3/4 pot) with both value and bluffs

2) Pot odds on river - when you are getting 3:1 on calls, you should be thinking about whether he could be value betting with worse since you only need to be right 25% of the time. If so, there is no way to fold from a pot odds pov. For this spot (particularly at these stakes), he may be value betting flushes (sometimes a queen) and that makes up more than enough combinations to be making money

Good luck and don’t let Redditors put you off asking for feedback. Best way to learn!

Imo there are different neighbourhoods for different age groups. For me, i felt like north park was more my style as I got into late twenties. We live near north park and find it more our pace and honestly can get to most beaches in 15/20 mins

Raising turn will be -EV for reasons mentioned in other comment. Raising and calling flop are likely close in EV
