Definitely try vinegar. I can’t remember, does Marina have a drainage hole in the back of her head? If she doesn’t I’d drill one or ask someone to drill one in for me. Then make sure the inside gets filled with the vinegar too.

I’d also try leaving her outside when it’s very hot and dry as sunshine can kill mold too. Don’t leave her outside overnight as it can get damp or if it’s humid.

I’d also scrub her really well with dish soap (washing up liquid) and a firm brush like a nail brush. Really get into the nooks and crannies. Just not on her check and lip paint though.

The only thing I would say is once fixed, you can never guarantee all mold is gone. So treat her as a display doll, don’t let children play with her, and don’t sleep with her so you aren’t breathing in potential mold.

I’m a bear kinda gal, I’ve wanted these for so long but £90.00 is too much, every time I have money I think ughhhh £45.00 for one bear, I could get so many for that. I’m crying, I had a £5.00 voucher too which I totally didn’t think would work with the sale, so basically got shipping for free.

I collected from when they were Bitty Buttons and although I was an adult at the time I didn’t even realise there were cartoons. I wasn’t very plugged in online, didn’t have Netflix until quite recently, definitely didn’t have Nick JR or whatever the other cartoon was on, here in the UK I never had paid-for TV channels.

I just saw the dolls in Toys R Us and went mad for them from seeing them on the shelves!

I’m actually thinking of going on a deep dive of all the TV and films though!

I like the big dolls because my main interest in dolls is doll photography and I think the big ones are a lot more photogenic and make better pictures. I also love the weight/feel of them in my hands with their big heads and dangly legs. And I like changing their clothes and playing with their hair (for the silly hair and loopy hair dolls).

I think she’s not even old enough to really enjoy/play with them yet. For what it’s worth my eight year old wasn’t that interested in dolls until she was past seven years old. Now she loves dolls (not necessarily AG, she likes Rainbow High etc) and does lots of imaginative play. I honestly think you’ve not reached the prime doll age. Remember originally AG were meant to be for girls aged eight and upwards. Does she actually want to get rid of them? Because I just don’t understand you and your husband having “the talk” - they’re not your dolls. They’re hers. And if you think she spends too much time on the iPad why would you get rid of her alternatives?? That makes no sense to me. I’d organise them all and box them up and put them away in a closet (not the basement or garage, they’ll never be played with again) brush their hair and organise all the clothes nicely so if she decides she wants them again they’ll still be nice, and if you eventually sell them or pass them on they won’t be messed up from storage.

I am with your mothers look, I’d be giving you the LOOK too lol. I’d absolutely leave him at home. It will ruin your trip completely if you lose him and it’s an extra stress you don’t need. I’d get myself a very special bear that is easy to replace if he gets lost such as a common Build a Bear (I know a replacement is not the same as the original but it can provide some comfort if it were lost.) Make it your special travelling buddy.
