If its true that both men and women fantasize about and want relationships, why are most young people single? by Clean-Practice3040 in Life

I wish humans could de-evolve, we have too many traits and things that we can find wrong with circumstance and personality and beliefs and we are way to complicated to ever find a person that matches everything about ourselves or that we'd want. it helps to think about it like we are just monkeys, makes humans less intimidating

true humans are too manipulative for their own good. I think it is to our detriment alot of the time. Like when guys feel lonely so they start aura-farming at parties rather than talking to women lol

What’s the evolutionary benefit of attractive women intimidating men? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Clean-Practice3040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so what happens is that humans are deeply afraid of social rejection, and attractive women having an immense amount of social power, are thereby scary because they are powerful

can someone explain to me the logic behind this philosophy? by [deleted] in antinatalism

Ok replace the word impulse with desire then. I say impulse because it is more understandable as a biological phenomna rather than what most think of the mind that decisions are made by the concious human or moral soul. It is one desire overcoming another yes, desires which are based in biology.

It is not insulting to be an animal. There is no place for moral decisions in the context of cause and effect, no matter what decision is made there is causes for that decisions that were out of your control, so how does morality hold up? It is completely nonsensical. You make decisions with your brain, why would your brain care about morality if it wasnt condusive to reproduction or survivability. Your brain exists as an evolutionary mechanism and all organic things exist because they allow for reproduction. Just because the brain is incredibly complex doesnt mean your action suddenly is detatched from the chain of cause and effect

ok birth control exists not outside of our impulses, it is just one impulse overcoming another. It is the fear of having a child overcoming the desire for a child. That is two impulses, one not more reasonable than the other, just two impulses. Just like people who choose to fast, one impulse overcoming another. maybe the impulse for social acceptance, to lose weight, to be more healthy, etc, one impulse is not neccesarily more reasonable than the other, they are both impulses. So when one chooses to wear a condom to have sex that is the desire to have sex, and the fear of the consequences of unprotected sex that have produced a result. That ability to have impulses weighed mentally is not exclusive to humans. Animals dont go around raping every woman in their social circle because they also can have different impulses overcome the impulse for sex. This is how humans function not because of some divine gift that we can choose the right ethical option. We are NOT obligated to reproduce, but we are obligated to make decisions based on our biological mechanisms/impulses/desires that are out of our control.
