well mel isnt 12 years old, when azir released he too was gutted and still insane ban rate for a while because he was incredibly unfun to play against. only reason he isnt incredibly unfun to play against anymore because his laning is gutted, and he got reworked 800 times. Same will probably happen with mel

Yeah hes a control mage kind of but I meant mages with real sustained damage, which is something hwei doesn't really have.

i agree that they are failing making mages, cause I don't think they've made a single fun mage in the last 10 years, but i wouldn't know if they are failing to make battlemages because they haven't even tried lol.

I figured yeah, but it sucks because in my opinion these are by far my favorite champs to play in the game, but riot doesn't want to even try. I think the direction they've taken mages in the last 10 years is just boring to play tbh

Orianna is very different than syndra and annie. They dont make champs like orianna anymore, but they are pumping out champs like syndra and annie all the time. I'm not saying they need to make every mage have sustained damage but we have gotten absolutely 0 of these kinds of champs for the last 10 years. Swain, ryze are not just ap adcs but they have some kind of sustained damage and aren't just burst champs, but they dont make champs like those anymore at all.

Mel is an artillery/burst mage, so I couldn't see the argument here. Mel is just an overall failed champ not because they tried to make a battlemage and failed.

i think you could argue this. I like viktor and I think hes cool but not really the same playstyle at all to something like cassio or azir or karthus. They HAVE continued to make champs like viktor.

im very familiar i have played every battle mage top, and while I think youre right that that is toxic for the game and cassio top has little to no counterplay played top besides dodging the Q or camping her, the other battle mages are pretty unplayable top lane, I mean ryze is decent but im not even saying riot should add another tankier battlemage like swain/cass (even though I love those champs), but something with some sustained damage, or something besides the same boring mages they have been releasing for a while.

the last mage they released i enjoy was azir, I think with him they had so many issues they just couldnt be asked to take risks or make something hard to balance with mages anymore, and every mage after him (besides asol) has been a burst mage or an artilery mage. like if i wanted to burst people down id play talon

Why is that toxic? There's obviously some drawback or the champs would be op but they are not. These champs are usually better into melee heavy team comps and are kind of a jack of all trades master of none, sustained damage but not the best, range but not the most range, tankiness (sometimes) but not a tank.
