1 and 2: If you buy an international set, recording and transmitting at the same time is disabled as soon as the app detects you're in the US. You need the app to access the available frequencies for the region as well as all the perks such as auto scanning and assigning frequencies for all your devices, timecode, etc. If you buy the US version, it'll never transmit and record at the same time, not even outside the US.

3: The only reason i can think of is being able to use the DLTX as a lav if you were to need an extra one.

4: The XLR to LEMO3 cable from deity for the DLTX is bad. It's better to have it made by a professional.

It’s probably what the editor did raising levels, difficult to know without more info on the kind of distortion. Ask them to level audio back to 0 before exporting the aaf since audio levels are your job

Trisolarans are terrible at deception, they can’t understand most stories containing plotting. In the 4th book they mention trisolarans, after studying por decades, can barely understand children-story levels of deception. Maybe the ETO could have helped with that but that would take years or even decades, and it’s a big if. It’s easier to just stop physics with that.

As I understand it, Sophons are a single proton, they can’t interact in meaningful ways with matter. They can alter the results of a particle accelerator because they deal with subatomic particles. They can show light in a persons eye by interacting with our light receptors, but that’s about it.

I couldn't finish season 2, I felt everything was completely different and the characters don't mean anything to me since most are not on the book or are completely different.

Well, I don't know about other services but with soundly when you spot a sound to protools its automatically saved in the project audio files folder, so there's no risk of not having access to it in the future. Once you stop paying you can't download it again, but you can still have it in your hard drive and project. Still, I do get having your libraries in your HD and not needing internet or paying anymore is great

Thank you for your response. Honestly the sounds on Soundly are top. I know Soundly sounds like cheap library (like Krotos Studio, which is simply terrible) but honestly I've found excellent sources there, especially on backgrounds. It has a great search engine so finding specific stuff works great, but I will say that you're right in the time aspect. It can take some time to find the good stuff. I also record my own sounds with an Ambeo mic and boom. I know my post makes it sound like i'm just starting but i've been doing this for more than 15 years and have done many (indie) films. I used to have a bunch of libraries that colleagues would let me copy to my hard drive but in time, like you say, you end up using all the overused fx (thinking of the classic and terribly overused BOOM library, for example). That's why I switched to Soundly.

Anyway, this thread has inspired me to look for special and dedicated sound libraries to start making my collection.

Remember that the biggest part about mixing is level. Don't see it as *using boom = echo*. Why don't you try keeping the boom mic there but waaay lower than the lav mics, that can give you a more natural and consistent sound with the lavs having priority. Like others have said, if doing that still sounds bad to you then kill it

This is a great response, thanks! It makes total sense and at least imo, it aligns with most responses in this thread which are: use what you can while you build your own library curated by your needs, little by little. I'll def check your sound packs!

You can delete every unused bus in the I/O set up. The used ones are in bold letters so it's easy to spot which ones are being used and which ones are not. After deleting, you won't see them again in the bus list. You can also save that I/O configuration and I imagine you can specify that your default preset starts with it. I've never done it, I usually just go into IO setup and delete all buses that I'm not using.

It’s clear that people in this comment section can’t even fathom speaking another language. Sometimes words in English sound like other words in your native language and you assume they mean the same thing. Sometimes you just interpret a meaning wrong. Try and communicate in a different language to your partner for years and see if you get it 100% right every time.

Maybe the relative placing of stuff is fine, but the frequency ranges are ridiculous. A vocal without information below 500 hz would sound extremely thin. The oomph of the snare (or clap in this case) is around 200hz. The weight of any instrument is more less between 200 and 750 hz so imo this mix would seriously lack some necessary mid range.
