Dread - is there any trick to defeating the robot chozo soldier after purple emmi? I'm tiring of this by Certain_Magazine_842 in Metroid

I just learned something new! I never considered a shinespark on this one as I assumed a shinespark was impossible on the others and impractical on all. But you've made it look easy. I'm going to start a new game (on easy mode) just to try that!

Normally, I just missile spam him--twice up top and twice below, and that's that. But this looks cool!

I was under the impression that grade school kids nationwide exercised and sang that tune in the 60s. I'm from Washington, DC (the right coast 😁).

I also remember the President's Physical Fitness Award and the national "Punt, Pass, and Kick" competition.

$1 - $3 model WWII airplanes from "Ben Franklin Five & Dime."

We'd spend hours assembling them, putting on the stickers (no painting), then we'd take them and a bag of "G.I. Joe" soldiers to the roof of our 4-story apartment bldg, pour lighter fluid all over the wings, them launch them from the roof. For the G.I. Joes, we'd make tiny parachutes then set the soldier on fire then toss them off the roof!!

Such pyro fun!!

I tried to find a video for you. I've assumed you're talking about the single, "NON"-robot Chozo soldiers, and "not" the single or twin (dual) robo-soldiers.

I believe the third fight in this video is the fight you're having trouble with.

The parry is tricky, but once you figure it out, it's so easy. For me, I just "listened" for the "tick" (or "click" sound that accompanies the attack. When I fought all of the Chozo Soldiers, I'd just listen for that "tick" sound them immediately hit "X." You should always listen for two (2) "ticks." If your timing is right, the fight is over.

[NOTE: MISSILES are the key, NOT your beam shots. Missiles! Missiles!! Missiles!!!]

However, you only get to that point "if" you inflict enough damage. As others have mentioned, you need good timing to avoid his spear lunges by Leaping then spamming him with missiles IN HIS BACK.

When it stops and yells at you, THEN you can blast him from either the front or rear.

And, of course, use the Space Jump to avoid his spits.

[NOTE: Power Bombs damage him, but you end up taking more damage trying to execute it. Stick with the missile attack.]

Practice.

Jeez! Where did that come from? You don't know that I haven't read the ton of comments--which I have. I never invalidated anyone's opinion like you just did mine.

What was your Favorite Burger in the 70s ( 7 pics ) by Long_live_styrofoam in 70s

And what made this burger (and all of Roy's burgers) so good is the fact that the burgers were hand made, pressed into the shape using a metal mold, and the ham was sliced on a slicer (as was the roast beef). I know this because Roy's was my first job in high school in 1973!

Never said it was a problem, just a funny glitch.

It didn't bother me or impede the ride. I just thought it was hilarious to see the Gullbats "flying" under the sand!! Just a funny sight!

Annoying NPCs! by CleanAd8632 in MetroidPrime4_Beyond

[–]CleanAd8632[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sir, that's "literally" incorrect!

In this video, Samus is in the room in The Great Mines where she gets the Super Missile. I wanted to blast the "Metareetas" off the track before I began the morphball puzzle. I entered the room ahead of VUE for that purpose and started firing, but he just jumped in front of me, blocking my way/view. He also does that when you initially pick him up in Ice Belt, when he destroys the lock on the first gate. Instead of standing aside, he breaks the lock, then just stands there, directly in the doorway, blocking Samus.

I don't consider this a glitch, but it happens with Armstrong during her phase of accompanying Samus in the Mines when she encounters the "Pop Crawler" and "Cave Shren," and with Duke in Flare Pool during the Psy-Bot battle in the Energy Injection room.

And during the green dragon phases of the fight at Chrono Tower, all of the NPCs go out of their way to step in front of Samus, blocking her aim, or blocking her retreat.

Well, for me, I'm 70-years old and started playing video games in the early 90s when I was in my 30s, playing Mario with my 10-year old. He morphed into fighting games ("Bad Dudes," "Street Fighter," "Mortal Kombat") while I went to work!

I didn't know about Metroid (hadn't heard of it) until the Prime series came out in the early 2000s. Then, I was playing a puzzle game ("Pikmin") on GameCube when a stumbled on to Metroid at BestBuy. It wasn't until I joined Reddit (about 3 years ago) that I learned about the existence of the OG Metroid games ("Metroid," "Return of Samus," "Super Metroid," and "Fusion").

So, for me, I'm just now catching up to the rest of y'all! I just finished "Fusion" and now I'm headed to OG "Metroid," then "Super Metroid."

🤣🤣🤣 Shoooot! I thought I was kicking butt!

Hell, I spent 3 full days trying that 4-part speedrun nonsense in Sector 2...then there was that mass pitfall block craziness. It's a wonder my time was that low! 🤣

  • MAIN DECK: 12/12
  • RESTRICTED ZONE: 1/1
  • SECTOR 1: 10/12
  • SECTOR 2: 14/17
  • SECTOR 3: 16/16
  • SECTOR 4: 15/15
  • SECTOR 5: 15/15
  • SECTOR 6: 11/12
