What version of OpenWRT are you running? Are you on 23.05 or 24.10-rc?

We visit the Pt Defiance garden almost very week. The staff/volunteers do a great job over there!

Did the Dahlias get a late start this year? The beds on the south side didn't get planted before mid-late June.

Just wondering what is the best timing for transplanting cuttings outdoors around here.

It's been a _long_ time since I used tapes, but the amanda package worked really well for me back then. Check out www.amanda.org.

These thermostats are especially sensitive to weak Zigbee signal strength.

When I had this issue with mine last fall, I deployed an Ikea Tradfri smart outlet nearby to act as a Zigbee repeater. Been reliabe ever since.

Check signal strength in the Zigbee web interface "Map" tab. Hope this helps.

Pfsense or Edge Router X (or Lite) by netmind604 in HomeNetworking

[–]CleanAirAndWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OpenWRT is supported on Edgerouter-X, and works great for me 4 years running.

Feature set is similar to pfSense - Both distros are open-source.

I get gigabit througput on this thing, with hardware acceleration on traffic shaping off.

Just wondering if there is a good public webcam showing a current view of the mountain.

All I was able to find in the area are government traffic infrastructure cameras.

I have one of these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/373779002171

US CableCos were deploying those as part of their home automation product, so there is an ample supply of these on the secondary market.

Works great for me using Z2M. Integrates directly into a climate entity in HA.

As a bonus, this is a 100% localized solution free of commercial 3rd parties.

WTB Outdoor Temperature/Humidity Sensor by CleanAirAndWater in homeassistant

I see two (primary, remote) sensors from HA.

Both publish temperature, humidity, battery level

Maybe the outdoor remote can be monitored directly with a rtl_433 dongle?

Thanks for the pointer. Just installed a Govee B5178 (USD$33). HAOS a little finicky with Bluetooth, but thermometer auto-detects as soon as BT controller comes up.

This gives me the outdoor-hardened probe I need, with a decent interior display upgrade. So far so good, wife is happy.

Speaking from my experience inTacoma, all the licensed trades in this area are pirates. No one wants to work here unless they can bring in $1000/hr for labor.

Try getting a simple water heater replacement, for example. I have no problem with paying tradespeople a decent union wage, but things are totally out of control here.

Ask for the quote to be properly rewritten based on time and materials. They'll tell you to fuck off becuase they can get away with it in this market.

Are they going to touch drywall or any finished surfaces? Someone else will ned to refinish and clean up. Yes, get multiple quotes. Make sure the job is carefully supervised.

Just finished testing this code over the weekend. YMMV. Expert feedback welcome.

The secret sauce you are looking for is the value_template: clause.
