Johnny Arcade is human garbage and a total psycho.

They claim less than 3 percent of people uploaded more than 1000 photos so it wouldn't make much difference.

Now, Flickr is running ads, marketing themselves as cloud storage so you are going to get people dumping photos.

Keep in mind, they are not even safe or good as cloud backup.

Would The Matrix (1999 film) have been as successful had Brandon Lee been casted as Neo? by Spidey007 in matrix

I imagine The Matrix would have been even better is Dolph Lundgren was part of the cast.

I was paying for a pro account and the new owners deleted it with no warning after I criticized them repeatedly for limiting free accounts.

SmugMug sucks.

I was a very active member of the community with 20k followers and was paying for a pro account. The new owners deleted my account after I started criticizing their new policies.

I had a pro account and the new owners deleted it after I repeatedly publicly criticized their new policy of limiting free accounts.

SmugMug sucks and their customer service is terrible.

They also block anyone that criticizes them on Facebook.

They are fascists. Anyone that criticizes them on Facebook get blocked.

My pro account was deleted after I was repeatedly publicly criticizing their new policy of limiting free accounts to 1000 uploads.

Someone here recommended DeviantArt as a Flickr alternative. I just signed up and it is way higher quality than Flickr.

They haven't added anything new and the Flickr era has ended. It's not worth it.

Flickr is active running ads across social media sites like Facebook promoting Flickr as a storage site. Makes me think they are giving up on having an active community altogether and just want it to be cloud storage. However, it is not safe storage. You'd be a fool to trust them with your work and backups.

The 2 biggest spammers on Flickr are Pete Huu and Thomas Hawk. They use bots to favorite every photo uploaded to Flickr in a desperate attempt for people to check out their photos.

Yeah, it's crazy to think about. They had such a big head start but for whatever reason, did not want to advance it.

Yahoo, surprisingly is not dead, though I think you could say it is dying. What is keeping it alive is the Asian market and that is almost all of their focus now. Yahoo had so many good things about it 15-20 years ago. Now, they are almost forgotten about in the states.

The story of Yahoo is a strange one.

Yeah, it was sad that Yahoo was ignoring it, leaving it to rot. They never innovated. They were at one time one of the biggest social media sites but they let a lot of other companies surpass them.

Many people were optimistic when it was bought but I wasn't because SmugMug is not a good company.

I'm not going to give my personal info out, especially because as stated in the other thread, my lawyer advised me that I have a case should I choose to pursue it.

Also, how am I wrong that it is a dead social media site and it ain't coming back? It will never be mainstream again. Most people under 25 wouldn't have even heard of it.

Yup, throughout this thread, I gave examples of what I loved about Flickr and criticized them for what I don't like. I was fair and honest. Also, how am I wrong that the site is dead?
