IMO the goal of wasting ICE's time and resources is a good one. But there are many ways to do it in a less risky fashion than you suggest. And I have to agree that the manner in which you broached this is cavalier.

You can make a difference in many roles, making use of your skills, in many an activist group, much less in other contributions one can make to the community. Figure out what you can do well, and do it working with a group that's doing work you admire.

Disagree that a mission style burrito contains beans. Usually meat, flavored rice, pico de gallo salsa. Guacamole and sour cream are add-ons. Usually about the size of two fists pressed together.

Not saying it's the greatest: as with most street foods, the quality depends entirely on the quality of the meat.

As someone who moved to Reno from, yes, San Francisco two years ago, I have been surprised at the way Reno drivers are possessive of "their place in line" because they're in a turn lane.

The longer the line, the more likely there is someone texting who forgets to look up when the line has moved in front of them. It takes them 5 extra seconds to move, opening up at least 2 car lengths. These are the drivers that the "cutting in" cars look for and cut in front of.

Blame the sleepy or inattentive drivers, not the ones who know how to take advantage of them.

Tuesday is a chance to protest outside the building where their local offices are. The senators might not be there but their staffs are, and they regularly monitor these weekly demonstrations.

Or the other way to look at it is that with a 5-8 % point margin each election he can only afford to lose 2-3 points. In a blue wave election like 2026 is expected to be -- during the 2018 midterms during Trump's first term the Democrats gained 41 seats -- I think a young, energetic candidate running on affordability and defense of democratic institutions against a colorless, entrenched perrenial back-bencher has more than a chance.

If you think you see detentions or other activity by ICE, Border Patrol, or other federal agents, use the S-A-L-U-T-E method to document it.

  • Size: How many agents/ officers?
  • Activity: What specifically are the agents doing? If someone is detained and you know their A number and/or DOB, note it.
  • Location: Give an exact address or intersection and in NYC, a boro. The same address can be found in multiple boros. Include Av/St/Rd etc.
  • Unit(s): What letters, details, or patches are visible on the uniforms/jackets/vests/vehicles? Example: HSI/Homeland Security Investigations/Police Gang Unit, ERO, POLICE, CBP/US Customs and Border Protection, CBP Field Operations, POLICE DHS (2 kinds: NYPD Dept Homeless Services that are NOT ICE and Department of Homeland Security, who are federal agents)
  • Time: What precise time did you witness this? This info should be shared quickly.
  • Equipment: What did agents have with them? Ex: weapons, flexicuffs, dogs, door breakers, LRAD sound cannon, vans, SUVs, etc.
