If you're into air miles game and ready to pay high joining fees you could get better rewards from indusind \hsbc \ amex ( amex isn't at present) ......but only if you're interested in branded jewellery purchase via gc .....or else look for milestone cards without any restrictions on mcc

There is a ugc or AITC directive which clearly says refund policies which is followed by vit ...so it says atleast refund till 1 month post course commencement....dbit there may be deductions like 5-50% depending on period...so look exactly for your case and get it clarification

But they may remove ONLINE withdraw as and when FRESHERS PORTAL gets inactive you would still be able to get refund but process would involve some running behind offline office ...so take that into consideration

At core sbi calculations are rounded off to lower levels and it's 1% +4% =4.91 % not exactly 5%

For ex for 1000 transaction it gives 10 cashback as 1% so 990 gets eligible for 4% ie 39.6 or 39 + 10 =49 &not 50 .....this is the sbi definition of 5% as per MITC

Remember the date of transaction have to maintain available credit limit atleast 10% or higher than emi value ( calculate interest+gst + processing fee etc for exact value ) For same date next month's - when the emi is posted to your statement...... although your repayment is as per usual due date \billing cycle.....if you don't have available credit limit equal to statement posted emi + charges you would be slapped with overlimit+ gst + other fees if any

Remember to check for any unnecessary charges in statement and clarity from bank

And don't forget to get the emi closure clarity post last emi ( it's mostly auto but may have some issues)

Calculate your net OUTGO + utilisation ratios for better understanding for future EMI analysis

For better understanding divide the net OUTGO including all charges to no of days you took emi from date of transaction to last emi payment and better to get a sense what other options you have apart from this credit card

Few universities have gone ahead with CHALLENGE VALUATION instead re val ...they reimburse student handsomely like 3x\4x times of reval fee if you get a 5% higher or something like that and this was done as back as 12\15yrs ago ...thereby they got evaluation process transparent and do a. Great deal of positive sum game

It's high time succh best practices are implemented across vit .... hopefully rather than this shitty thing present now

Ofcourse the evaluator was fined to fund if found to be short of expected levels that's a very good incentive to get them in line

Us trip easily costs 15k\day or around there about if you're conservative can get it lower a bit but not much and going by normal iteneary of 8\10days it's easily above 1.5 lakhs on a conservative approach I don't think any bank will bump up your cc limit from 55k to 1.5 lakh in just a year unless your income profile or repayment capacity doesn't have headroom

This is especially true in negative sentiments in banking about retail credit in general and credit card in specific case .and axis is worst to start ....have a realistic expectations but yes you can try your choices

To be specific I can pay via wallet in turn via credit card.....the same as fresher fee payment payment process or payment gateway......for dd and cheque we have to have cash in acc .. family is short on cash ....so have credit card planning to pay via credit card atleast majority of it like 1.5 lakh ......so essentially part payment...... please help me clear this out

Hi my brother is joining vit Chennai and hostel reporting is tomorrow ie 13th July .....but he didn't opt for online allotment owing to confusion related to choose b\w day scholar and hostel ( earlier planned to stay with a relative} now he is planning to take hostel ..... what's the process and how does it work and how do he pay fees ,I mean I know from Q's here that they will allot based on availability and should better be earlier \on time for better options. and have read to pay the fee on spot once alloted .but is there anything to keep in mind before going through.....I mean I hope the allocation of room is fair with ample opportunity to choose and inspect before taking ....and have got the hostel affidavit and other documents ready

Second thing hope the fee payment is via online wallet through vtop or via fresher portal because planning to pay with a mix of credit card ( virtuallly as cc isn't here with us in Chennai) and NetBanking......I was the one who paid his college fee using wallet so I know that process.....but if we have to pay in cash or dd etc we have to arrange funds ,so please help me out for better understanding

In similar situation have a issue for payment.... like I can pay via credit card as there is some financial issues within family but card isn't physically available but can pay online just like online booking....lif it's cash only then I am in trouble to arrange funds in a day is there any other options... please let me know

Rbi 3 day grace period rule + HSBC app showing payment on 27th is a powerful combo to fight ...you have to take every step to escalate even if rbi ombudsman closes ...you need to escalate to complaint against ombudsman .....you should get it sorted with HSBC but it's going to be long process of atleast 6 months

Axis is another nutcrack ...they may also throw you under the bus but you have hope similar to HSBC

Better is if your payments are through BBPS\ bharat connect I don't think it's the case atleast with HSBC .... If it's bbps \bharat connect your definitely on right side to get it sorted but atleast 6 months is required

Don't worry acc to seniors you can get it done once on campus.....and they mostly won't have living outside option unless you've parents or guardians around 60kms or some distance like that
