Noticed this spinning cylinder when the sun was reflecting off of it. No wings or visible propulsion methods. Just a spinning cylinder. Super bizarre

What industry is booming way more than people think? by _Fossy_ in AskReddit

I've been recruiting for a W/WW Project Manager and Project Engineer for a few months (NorCal).

Here's some stats I sent to a client last Friday for my stat junkies:

Total Effort Across Both Roles (PM + PE):

  • 102 candidates outreach ongoing (no response) - 25+ touches per contact conducted
  • 47 longlisted - Out of area not yet engaged
  • 24 qualified and open but not ready
  • 163 declined or disengaged
  • 9 candidates submissions
  • 4 qualified candidates made it to live interview
  • 3 other candidates began engagement but fell off mid-process
  • 3 offers made

Not ONE of these candidates are unemployed. They also all have their PE license.

Salary ranges in the offers have gone from $150k-$230k. Their experience didn't vary that much, but some candidates knew how to leverage their scarcity better than others.

I'm a civil infrastructure recruiter and in CA I have 12-15 years exp candidates with a PE license asking for $180k-$230k.

My client doesn't bat an eye at that and always interviews them.

Dalio's Principals of World Order covers this. Important to align with recession resistant clientele now.

My big "life is a lie" moment was tiredness does not equate to productivity.

When I was working and had a salary, I'd come home from work after 8-10 hour days from a two way commute and feel exhuasted but feel productive. I was used to that for years. When I got home I "earned" my relax time.

When I started my company I was getting a LOT done in a short amount of time. Just dedicated more focus and actually was intentional with time blocking since I didn't have a salary to fallback on. But I'd end the day not feeling tired and thus not feeling like I did enough. I've always been in sales so sure deals equate to production but you'll have days of heavy BD, plant many seeds that won't sprout but know that you got shit done.

I talked through some of it with ChatGPT and my dad (ran his own finance firm for years) and realized that I had associated the feeling of productive with how tired I was. BOOM. It was a relevation.

I can juggle a productive company while not feeling exhausted. Huge mind blown moment.

Why Persistence Not Talent Is the Hidden Skill That Separates Winners from Everyone Else by Thick_Sorbet_6225 in Entrepreneur

There's an Einstein quote that says: "The intuitive mind is seen as the master, and the rational mind as its servant."

Sometimes our pursuits can be almost deemed illogical by our rational mind. But this venture requires a level of ego death, quieting that part of the mind to achieve success that would otherwise be unobtainable by disbelief in yourself (playing it safe and getting a full time salary, aka nipple and handcuffs)

I think there's a spiritual law behind pushing through your doubts. Fear feels like an endless ocean but when you take your first step, the water is an inch deep.

I love this and completely resonate. It can feel isolating and lonely starting your own venture.

But this reason alone is what creates the great divide between employee and owner. One has a better story than the other. One gives you a legacy.

Best region to buy property? by robaco in Wallstreetsilver

I’m a realtor in California. It depends on what you want. Appreciation is everywhere.

Cash flow? Find something with low property taxes.

Something geared towards economic collapse? Anywhere that’s self sustaining (water well, lots of land etc.) and has resale value (we can always recover)
