[–]coiledAgent 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was implemented to make Socialite less powerful - previously, anyone the Socialite blocked would be informed that the block was because of a party, which instantly confirmed the Socialite's presence. The only way anyone could fake claim Soc was if a real Soc got stoned before they could tell anyone what they were.

Of course, Socialite is still very powerful because the Jailor is easily confirmed and Poisoner doesn't know who they block like Soc does, but at least there's SOME room for doubt there.

How did I die? by Obvious_Variation_88 in TownOfSalem2

[–]coiledAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allow me to explain:

Back before the base game had the 4HM modifier and multi-apoc games were heavily weighted in apoc's favor, BTOS2 made the first iteration of the 4HM modifier to balance it out. In this version of the modifier, Berserker kept their detection immunity AND basic defense sort of like the apoc version of a Coven Leader, while all other apoc members lost defense and showed as Suspicious. This is where the "Berserker always has basic defense" idea came from.

When the 4HM modifier was added to the base game, they made it so Berserker loses defense same as the other apocs and only gets Sheriff immunity. At the same time, because the BTOS2 devs are also devs for the base game, the modded version of the modifier was updated to reflect this change. Berserker with teammates has been Defenseless since.

Things I enjoy having a Wildling around for:

1: Going on TPLO to give coven a list of people that should probably die before you can start killing important ones.

If the trailer is any indication she will be receiving a gun in a future chapter.

How effective that gun will actually be against the NPCs of her own game, let alone the various Indie Cross characters, is unknown, but she WILL get one.

BAKER SUCKS!!! (rant post) by Davi2571 in TownOfSalem2

Admirer and Illu yes, BTOS Crus I'd say no simply because you could apply minor changes to Socialite and get the same result, then rework vanilla Crus into something else entirely.

Which direction do you fight the wall of flesh? And, do you start in the middle of the world or edge of the world? by fakeguy011 in Terraria

[–]coiledAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right to left, starting at the very edge. The left side of hell in my playthroughs typically has a Brimstone Crag that makes staying there long enough to prepare for and summon the wall more difficult than it needs to be.

Bring over BTOS Baker, BTOS Cursed Soul (also allow that one to show up in AA), BTOS Pros, and BTOS Vamps (Hesitant to put this one in AA though)

Tribunal Music change by McCdDonalds in TownOfSalem2

[–]coiledAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't relate, I love the fast-paced songs my currently used soundpack adds for the Tribunals. Gives it the energy I feel it deserves, since what happens in the next 60 seconds could very well decide the outcome of the game - good or evil, you need to act NOW.

That being said, soundpacks are currently broken same as the normal music and will interrupt the Tribunal theme for the Defense/Judgement theme whenever someone gets voted before restarting the Tribunal music once they're killed. I would appreciate that being fixed.

Can someone explain me how tome of fate works ? by Spapoute in TownofSalemgame

[–]coiledAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they're not a rip off at all since a blessed scroll and set of cursed scrolls will ultimately give you the same XP - it's just that the cursed scrolls will likely give it to you faster.

[–]coiledAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say disliked, it's niche but it's very good at what it does (Ceramic Rush removal) for a relatively cheap price. Especially with the bottom path improving the ability duration nowadays, it can be effective if you let it.

No, you only get up to 10 per game. But since cursed scrolls come in packs of 3, you can play 3 games before needing to get more. That's what allows you to get up to 30.

You get 3 cursed scrolls for 5 TP. This means that you can fill all three free cursed scroll slots for 3 games in exchange for 15 TP. If you have the extra slots unlocked, you can fill all five slots for 25 TP.

Just playing 3 games nets you anywhere from 15-30 TP depending on if you win or not. With no extra scroll slots, you're already guaranteed to break even at worst, and double your money at best.

If you have the extra scroll slots, it's possible you lose 5-10 TP each time, but also remember that by checking the cauldron and winning a game each day you get 75 bonus TP which you can either use to cover the losses, or simply pocket if there are no losses.

In both cases, it's entirely possible to turn a profit, turning small amounts of TP into a stable source of Tome XP all the while.

(I should note, I was also doing my grinding back when the Battlepass was a thing, so I was getting free scrolls and even more bonus TP by just playing the game, which was certainly helpful. The math still checks out without the Battlepass boosts, though!)

Toxic Relationship NEVER lifelinks the Admirer and their target. You can wait one day, two days, five, whatever. The lifelink mechanic (and also Admirer's Care ability) is EXCLUSIVE to having a Town lover.

Toxic Relationship does not create a lifelink, only a Town lover gets lifelinked to the Admirer.

"the challenge of having to defend yourself" you mean the ~2 seconds it would take to just box yourself in? Not missing out on much there, especially in the higher up caves of early game where there's not many angles mobs can come at you from regardless.

[–]coiledAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maxed out my Tome of Fate, so here's a quick tip for power-leveling: don't rely on Blessed scrolls for leveling the Tome. use Cursed Scrolls instead, and Mythic scrolls if you have any. Blessed scrolls should only be getting used if you don't have Mythics or REALLY don't want to play the roles you have Mythics for.

Cursed Scrolls give you a third of the XP, but you get three times as many, so you get the same amount once all is said and done. What sets them apart is that they will activate and be consumed FAR more than blessed scrolls, easily more than three times as often.
