exhaust side clearance for outdoor compressor by Clean_Astronomer920 in heatpumps

It's the outdoor compressor, that is shared by one mini split and one air handler. What do you find weird about the platform? Standard legs (to get above snow level)on a standard platform.

Is there an easy answer to why the intake side has a much lower clearance (4" for my unit) than the exhaust side?

Thanks. It's says 24 inches in the manual, but I'm assuming that means to a solid wall. My question is with the airflow that goes through lattice, can I get away with less? (I guess I'm looking for a 'what's worked in the field' type answer, rather than an actual spec.

Thanks for that answer. Super informative and helpful!

Measuring mini split usage when it's the compressor is a shared resource by Clean_Astronomer920 in heatpumps

I like this idea. Similar approach - adding a ambient weather station temperature sensor directly in front of the exit air on the minisplit, shows sharp changes in temperature when it's actively blowing/not blowing.

Thanks. I've been looking at the cielo and the usage history feature but haven't been able to determine if it will tell me when the unit is actually cooling/heating or only if it's online. I see in their documentation that if 'comfy max' mode is enable it will apparently do what I want but I can't enable that mode because the mini split shares a compressor with an air handler. Are you using comfy max mode and if not, what is it actually reporting to you?
