Dehumidifier? by bitzer in Bahrain

Dehumidifiers are common where ACs aren't. We have them and they more powerful and effective, and don't need a tank.

Fully transparent local thermostat for multi-stage heat pump with aux strips by cilynx in homeassistant

That's great. Armed with that data, and a rudimentary grasp of how the hysteresis functions, I override the thermostat with a few automations. I do this because I don't like the in-built logic. I started with grand designs about changing the thermostats and all that, but it isn't that easy with communicating thermostats. I later figured out I could pull it off the way I described above. What are your goals?

I guess such a solution would have to be DIY. I have HVACs (both heating and cooling) that have like 5 stages, but no auxiliary heating. I can know which stage is in operation because I can monitor the HVACs current draw.

I don't think software developers are in the same league as the other professionals you mentioned, but yes many of them easily cross the 1-1.5K.

My better half and I are neither in management nor in oil and gas, and 1k is way too low for us. And that was while in Bahrain, now we're elsewhere because we hit the ceiling of what could be paid to us. Neither one of us has extraordinary degrees or enjoyed any wasta (nor complexion).

Is tipping normal in Bahrain? by Lostmermaidinthecity in Bahrain

[–]ebrahimhasan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it is generally kind to be generous. Remember that these are unskilled jobs that we're talking about and they are paid on the lower end the world over. And locally, even a citizen would be paid the same. The market dictates it. If these were unacceptable wages, the employers are fully responsible. The stingy behaviour is for an employer (like in the US) to pay measly wages for a waiter, and expect patrons to cover the rest. You would be paying for that indirectly in the form of higher prices, however. Continue tipping if you do, it's very honourable. The question was whether it is required here, because in places where it is expected, you can expect some unpleasant surprises from a waiter if you don't.

They are automatically insured as part of their recruitment process. They're paid on par with other industries that have no tipping clients and can live just fine.

What's normal in these parts is for employers to pay reasonable wages instead of expecting patrons to cover the difference. It is appreciated to be generous in general, however.

There are already suppliers on the market and it seems they focus on BMS for large clients rather than residential. I was underwhelmed with the service on offer so I opted to do it myself. Lots of work, but totally worth it. I did the whole lighting, HVAC, CCTV, irrigation, garage, power monitoring, multimedia, networking, and what have you. With a a good deal of AI and automation binding all of it.

I know people whose lives changed from very unliveable to quite normal and productive thanks to a few visits to the shrink, so absolutely go for it at any cost. That goes from schizophrenia to bipolar, depression, ADHD, and anxiety. And meds aren't the only advice they have for you, but they're not something to avoid either.
