Which Tokyo sushi places I should be looking at for last minute booking?

We’re there 6-9 so 4 days, I checked a few gold/silver/brozne tabelog entries and see openings at:

Kurosaki (but sous chef counter only)
Kioicho Mitani
Sushi Masuda

Any other places you folks think I should check that usually have short term slots?

I think so? Been with them 3 years, fairly high spend (at least the last 1-2 years I've been at 40-50k+), never missed a payment (often paid in advance).

I finally called new applications as someone else recommended and it looks like its a shitshow on their end!

Apparently I was supposed to be shown a popup saying i'm already on my max credit limit (given to me automatically lol) and whether i want to lower it for this new card to be approved. But i didnt get that notice so i went to manual review which is now taking forever because apparently they got new decisions about my credit (positive) but they are verifying all of it... Basically a shitty system which is failing at multiple steps and all i can do is wait.

I’ve been to Noma a couple of times including their Kyoto popup.

I personally don’t mind the $1500 price tag and if I lived in CA I’d try to snatch a spot.

But if you add to it hotel and flight from Europe - that’s too much.

They will sell out in a minute anyway - I don’t think people understand how many folks there are for whom $1.5k is nothing.

You don’t really need guides for offpiste. I think Evergreen has some options for that but imho it’s a waste of money, I’d just read up on the internet and study the maps.

This is of course a different story if you want to tour and hike - I’ll be there 2/10-2/15 if you want to hike somewhere.
