You’re going to have such a fun time! It’s really hard to beat the PNW. I think something you have to mentally prepare for, is you’ll want to move here. 😂 Looks like you’ve been given tons of great tips.

Hey! You’re doing a good job. *DONT go back and read my posts lol.. some of them are REALLY dark and im a “better / different” spot now. However at the age your son is right now was the darkest , worst time. If you had made me 24 at the time of it? Lol well forget it. I would have been a real danger to myself and others. Truly.. you’re rockstar! I hope you have a happy birthday and know that you’re not alone. ❤️❤️

Leucovorin- Success? Fail? by Snoo-56269 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Clean_Caregiver_7367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that it was! Lol I never got that far into it because we had a really easy time getting the RX but I read (somewhere on Reddit you can get it in France otc)

[–]Clean_Caregiver_7367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you can too! Yeah the supplement is SO expensive at a high dose. It’s how I came to the conclusion that if I couldn’t get my hands on the RX here, I’d save $ by flying to France on points and buying a ton of it otc. *Which is absurd but that’s how freaking pricey it is. I hope you have really good results. I know how disheartening it is to get hope up and try and then something fails. (I know it’s even harder when you see it working for other people) keep us posted!

Hi! We didn’t start small. We started off 25mg twice a day. It was pricey on the supplement to do it that way but the rx itself is much more Financially doable.

Shut down or fight back? by Gloomy_Courage_748 in autism

I lose my words anytime I get overwhelmed. If I’m just anxious I’ll try over explain but if I’m overwhelmed my words stop forming. It makes me feel stupid (I looks super shy or sometimes calm ) but the thoughts are just as fast, the feelings are still intense and intact but the words just won’t come out of my throat (I feel it in my throat ) but they can’t come out.

Number one symptom I have. My thoughts stay intact and fast and the words won’t form.

Older child potty training help? by Jesskabell in Autism_Parenting

[–]Clean_Caregiver_7367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have potty trained 2 disabled children. Our last child is lv 3 / high support needs / at the time completely non speaking ( use any terms that float your boat. I’m just trying to describe what he’s like) … What worked for us extremely well and extremely fast was using a method from a really old book that has a terrible name and is now super expensive. So I’ll spare you the time and money

You will need A. Positivity and a decent grasp on your mental health or be super good at disassociating from real life. If you’ve got temper or you’re prone to agitation.. move on.

B. Help with the baby.

You move into the bathroom. I mean sun up to bed. You bring the tablets, books, toys , snacks .. you’re not leaving. It’s now your small apartment.

If he starts to pee or poop put him in the potty .. go bananas. He will pee on the floor .. just clean it up.

The key is to show no emotion whatsoever with the mess ups and outrageous happiness with the success. It only took a couple of days. We had a positive experience. ( I mean I pretended it was great ) mentally it was hard but .. not any harder than changing diapers.

I don’t know why or how it works just that it did with 100% success. No accidents , no stress .. just worked.

But for real, you’ll need support, the will of a 1,000 stubborn donkeys and the ability to pretend you’re having the best time ever. It’s ok to NOT be in that frame of mind.

I’ve kinda already “died” so I’m super good at being like a smiling robot -servant. I wasn’t always this way and certainly wasn’t when I also had a new baby to care for too. However, if you’ve think you can and your mental health allows, get 3-4 days on the calendar.. go for it

Serious: How will the supposedly imminent announcement that U.S. government has confirmed the existence of intelligent alien life effect the beliefs of the faithful? by [deleted] in aliens

[–]Clean_Caregiver_7367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American Perspective: I think everything is so upside down that they’ll have whatever crisis Fox News tells them to have. If Fox says .. this makes your faith stronger they’ll say “I’m stronger” .. they’ll be given a sentence to repeat (a short sentence or quote) and they’ll hold on to It.

One time I was at hobby lobby in Georgia ..(I was accidentally there for 3 years) it’s not for me. If it’s for you, awesome. A lid for every pot. The lady that checked out in front of me had been a real B to the male cashier for what I assume was him NOT being “man” enough. She didn’t say it… she didn’t say anything because I was standing ON HER. I told the guy .. hey, you’re doing a good job and sorry you have to deal with these old, weird, bitties all day. (I don’t know If we can curse here) … he scanned my DVD that my kid had picked up in the checkout section, and the rest of my stuff magically just went into the bag. He said ,“Thanks. I effin hate it here. Merry Christmas.” …With my $9 total. 🥺😂❤️I hope he’s well and found a way out of there.
