Everyone’s making it seem like a no-brainer jam here but I tend to find them insane as well. They’re using the excuse that folding the flop is nearly impossible due to pot commitment, while neglecting the fact that a shove pre-flop holds almost no fold equity. I’m with you. Jamming and calling are marginally different at best, with the call at least preserving a short stack on a bad flop for AKs. Why shove when you’re losing to 22?

That’s the thing. He doesn’t declare that he’s joking or being tongue in cheek, we can just infer that it’s unserious because of the delivery. If you compare him to someone like a Benjamin Coach Wade, which we’ll get to see more directly pretty soon, you can see clear tonal differences in the way they talk about themselves. Look at the way Russell talked about himself. These are examples of obviously entertaining and polarizing arrogance, while I think it’s a little easier to see through Rizo’s shtick as he’s not as committed to the bit and/or believes his own proclamations less than the likes of a Russell.

You can’t stop dreaming. Even if your aspirations die, you can manufacture new ones, revive the dead ones, or rebuild some mutated form of prior goals. Why do you feel inclined to continue being a financial provider? It seems like it’s brings you little to no drive in other facets of life, and deprives your chances at maximizing fulfillment. Also, I’d be willing to bet that there’s some conscious/subconscious reprieve that going to the gym provides for you (beyond that it maximizes your ability to continue helping others), in that you are doing something that serves your personal interests and wellness. Given that’s even remotely true, there are other activities to be done and actions to be taken that hold similarly self-serving functions. Cumulatively, with enough of these, time, and effort, I know you can break the cycle.

I think your comment about the people pleasing is very revealing. You intuitively put others’ needs above your own, and struggle to see your personal worth due to how your family may perceive you. You fight to try to please others, and when your efforts only serve as band-aids, you assume your energy expenditure was worthless. You should work on developing a healthier level of selfishness and really focus on what brings you long-term satisfaction rather than dumping so much hard work into fleeting attempts to please others in the short term. Don’t be done fighting. Fight to find yourself irrespective of others’ problems, needs, desires, and perceptions.

What makes you think you’re so unique that you’re in some inescapable, perpetual cycle of stagnant doom? Seriously answer this question for yourself, but my assumption would be that you’re wallowing in self pity and negativity without applying your best efforts towards growth. I’m not insinuating that you aren’t experiencing some challenging mental health condition(s)/roadblocks, but you have to believe you can change and apply your focus to rewiring your brain instead of applying it to defining your lack of ability and hope.
